i got a question about my XTi.

Is it a bad idea to take it outside at night to shoot my car on the snow. And i remind you at around 10pm its down to around 10degrees. Is it too cold to shoot outside?

how long do you plan on being outside...i dont think itll get cold enough unless youre planning on sleeping out there and s**t...i would suggest keep the lcd on so it can provide some heat to the camera and always have the camera in your hands and not hanging from the strap so your hands can always give it some heat. i wouldn think there is a problem though.

i live in FL, but for some reason I don't think i'd recommend it......

Yeah i probably would even be outside for 45 minutes. I just want to slap it on my tripod and get some shots with my new headlights in, but its not gonna warm up until spring.

well make sure the cam is on the tripod before you go outside and think of the shots you want before you do it...i really dont think you have anything to worry about..i have taken pics in portland, and denver with cold weather with no problem. i would just do anything you can to minimize the time youre spending outside.

i got a 20 buck polarizer and i feel like it makes no f**king difference in my pics at all. i know ferio has one and his pics look awesome....so maybe there is a difference...
i want a speedlight so bad now...but i have to focus on getting a civic again.

my friend told me to make sure its multi coated

morenos look different because he color tints them in photoshop. I have the same filter like his but different brand and the colors look the same. last week was my 1st time using it and its pretty cool. you turn the polarizer (circular) untill it gets rid of the reflections where you want. it doesnt cover the whole entire car. for example you have to choose between the hood or side panels

So you're pleased with yours? What is the name brand? I just can't see spending the $80. UNLESS it really does make a difference. if it does preform better, I am MORE then willing to cough up the extra $$$

lol sup bro, there's def a noticeable difference in pics w/ and w/out polarizer. I havent kept any before and after pix, but I know that both myself and 96 DX Hatch took pics of the same teg at a car meet a few months ago, ill get both pix and post them to show u the difference.

the rich coloring is w/ saturation in photoshop, but look at the hood,

not the best example, but u see how the clouds are not scattered on the hood of my pic? the polarizer rids a certain of virtually all reflections/rough shadows, you can see through windows without the reflection/sunglare and stuff.

my bad bro, i've seen differenet polarizers used. the less the money, the less the usage.

I've seen cheapy polarizers do little to nothing to pix. There are 2 brands out there that I would recommend, and they are tiffen and hoya. I personally prefer the tiffen polarizers.

I converse from time to time w/ Devin on aim, and we both seem to prefer the tiffen filters over the hoyas and others.

i'm pretty sure the canon's are good, but i haven't tested them personally, for filters, i've seen most people turn to the aftermarket brands.

lenses are a different story, canon all the way
