Yeah I basically monitor the servers and if they go down I need to fix them, If i cant I make a call. Also there are tons of system backups that go on at night (no user downtime) we monitor too. But I have it down so its really mindless at this point.
Hence why I take 'smoke' breaks when needed.

i work for a logistics company in Mogadore... shipping/warehousing/pulverizing/real estate (we kinda do just about everything).
i'm essentially the entire IT dept (been this way for 2 years now... since the good ol' downsizing. in fact, anything technical or "electronic" essentially comes through me. my official title is Director of MIS. however, i do everything from managing large projects/accounts, etc, to standing over a printer removing paper jams for foolz who can't figure out how to do that for themselves (and anything in between). some days i have NO time... others, i sit at my desk and debate crap here on CC
we actually just hired some noob outta KSU to help me with the BS work... he starts Monday). we'll see how he works out...
