How exaclty did they come to the conclusion of thinking you needed a water pump for that engine though?

What questions did that ask you? Year, make, model, trim, etc?

i had the top cover off of my timing belt something droped in there. ate the belt so i figgured while i was doin it id change the pump, i went to all them places asked for a 99-00 Civic SI water pump. they asked what engine 1.6 or Vtec. i said 1.6 Vtec. they came out with one i took it, i had the old one off and looked at them side by side they looked nuttin alike. so i went back with the old one and asked for every water pump they had for a 99-00 civic no luck, so i asked for a del sol water pump same thing.. from there i went to so many places and they came out with a single cam B16y8 water pump... worst part was i was about 45mins from my house i was at my boys shop checkin on my other car and i heard they valves making noise so i left him the car for about 2 days and he had the same problem they kepts giving him the part for a B16y8

I got in trouble pretty much for trying to stand up for myself when someone I know in person got the wrong idea about an incident. Someone I knew posted this because they hadn't heard my side of the story yet and were wrongly influenced by my ex.

My ex made it sound like I ran him over with the car, in reality I told him to get off the car because I wanted to leave. I feel uncomfortable around him (I didn't expect him to be at my friend's house, much less in this state) and don't like to have him tease and belittle me for so long. He thinks he's just messing around and it's all in good fun. He thinks that I should have to tell him everytime to chill out. I think he's an adult and should be able to figure it out himself.

Anyway, I told him to get off the car, he wouldn't. I began to back out of the driveway, he still kept his hands on the window sill. So I backed up faster, he got hit in the ribs with my mirror (come on, I love my car, why would I try to hit someone with her?) and dropped to the ground while saying obsenities. Then my friend and his fiance showed up. I made small talk for a moment, but got out of there quickly because well, I have a crush on my friend (he knows it, long story, too private) and it hurts to see him with his fiance. I knew her from high school and always liked her, I just didn't expect it to impact me that much when I saw them together. So when I left out of the gravel driveway, he thought I tried to make alot of noise leaving or even tried to hit my ex's car. I was trying to turn around and stay out of the grass and I had no idea that was even his car.

And there's the stupid story that was blown out of propurtion and led me into resigning from being a mod because another mod got all pissed off that I responded to my friend's post on here. "No one would have known it was you if you hadn't posted." You know, because that was all I wanted.. as long as no one *knows* it's me. Actually I don't care if anyone knows, I just wanted to clear my name to my friend.

why you would get a water pump for a dohc motor to put in your single cam block?

B16Y8 is netheir SOHC nor DOHC, B16Y8 does not exist

See, I know that Advance Auto Parts stores would have you select the following:
Year - 1999
Make - Honda
Model - Civic Si
Motor (sometimes this has only one option, often it will only have the one that comes in that trim though)
- B16A2

Then you'd select *Cooling* and the first part listed, *Water Pump*. It would show you new and remanufactured water pumps avlailible for that vehicle, the part number, price, if it's In Stock or Solo We Have it (which means we can order it for you, Check Shelf, or Check Avail. Then it has the list price and the core charge if there is one. Oh, and a little camera if there's a photo of said part.

Saying that.. I don't believe it. I've seen the lists our computer database has and I honestly don't believe the other parts stores' companies are all f**king up that much.

i gotta B16 in my car.. but the water pump they gave me was for a Single cam... but yea Nofx i tryed everywere with no luck, i mean the old one was no more then 6k miles old.. maybe less but its good for now

you would have to be pretty stupid to drop something in the timing cover...even more to start the car with something in it. or pretty stupid not to notice something fall in there..

i spent 7 hours today helping with my buddies 500+ horsepower Civic.

well i was gunna try but i already had the belt for a b16 and the water pump from a GSR wouldnt work unless i had a belt form the GSR

well what happen was i left the cover off to adjust the cam gears, i put the screws back in. i guess they got loose from driving, i went to race someone did a burn out and it musta droped in i didnt notice it right then but after 2 days of driving and when i poped the hood you could notice it. the car had no power and the belt was really loose.
