no, that is partially correct. ALL USDM 96-00 HATCHBACKS have the chassis code EJ6. the ONLY CIVIC with the chassis code EK9 is the 96-00 CIVIC TYPE R. so, like i said earlier, i think you have a EJ6. look at your VIN plate. i am 100% confident it starts 1HGEJ6. go check it i could spew off more digits from ur VIN if i had more info about ur car (ie: if it's manual or auto).

if u want more info on civic chassis codes, feel free to ask. it is something i'm quite knowledgeable at.

You guys don't notice the show pimp my ride?? how they all drive junky ass cars but look at their freakin house and neighborhood....i mean you live in the type of place and can't afford to buy a new car?? come thats kinda bs if you ask me

the thing about pimp my ride i dislike is they are basically building show cars that normally would be transported by trailer form show to show and expect people to drive them everyday, reliably. when in reality all they have done is made the car more likely to get stolen and leave the person with no car at all, which is stupid because they usually don't have a lot of money or else they would have fixed/replaced the car in the first place.

hahaha... i like ur analogy... except that no civic witht he EK chassis code was ever sold in the US by honda of america.

for 96-00 models:
EJ6 = CX/DX/LX/SE/VP trim.
EJ7 = HX trim
EJ8 = EX trim
EM1 = Si trim

it has nothing to do with preference. it has to do with being accurate. the difference between right and wrong. saying it's an ek9 is basically like putting a type r sticker on ur car. it's like driving a baseline lancer and calling it an evolution.

but think about it...did you see the one with the Acura Legend?? the guy was freakin wearing gator boots and all G.Q out with a nice house....if you ask me i think its all a setup....but i do agree with you about them building show cars..just to get stolen, i mean its the west coast the s**t will get stolen within a week

maybe they choose based on the car, not the person. i mean, they must have vehicles pretty researched and thought out to mod them in a day or however long they do (i really don't know, i don't own a telelvision)

yea thats only one example though, you are right, but from my personal experience even people with little cash flow can wear nice clothes. people with prioritization problems lol. generally speaking most of the people on the show don't have a huge amount of money, otherwise they would fix or replace their cars like i said. but it is MTV, they don't really care what happens as long as they get good ratings

lol... i'm all about being correct and accurate... plus i'm big on chassis codes so it really gets to me when ppl use erroneous codes for their car... it's like when one of my friends refers to EH2 hatchbacks as EG6... argh... THERE ARE NO EG6s SOLD BY HONDA OF AMIERICA..


anyway, i read the thread.. and not much of it was between u guys. imho, it was just a big discussion about semantics. i think if u stated how often u stopped to put water in, u'd have more of a point. from what i gathered, it seemed to me that the car was never not in motion (since u ran red lights) and that u probably filled ur rad while the car moved
