just like how i rarely hear about a car with nitrous last for five years without blowing the engine.

anytime you increase a stock cars output you will sacrifice its lifespan. some get lucky and last for years, some arent lucky and it only lasts a couple of months.
i was not even implying that they blew up.. although quite a few of them did.. id be lying if i said i have not heard of juiced motors blowing up.. lol you took that like someone who is used to arguing about things... im simply saying.. in my area at least.. MOST boosted hondas have died OR moved on to other things.. i have never had a turbo on my honda before, so i lack any first hand knowledge about it... it just seems to me that power at the flick of a switch, that is not constantly there.. would put less strain than power thats always there (high compression motor, super charger, turbo, etc..) JUST a thought.. =)

NOT intended to be in an arguing way...

These arguments are very entertaining, to say the least. My way is going to be a small turbo or a supercharger. that's how it stands right now. For sure, everything that ups the power lowers the legth of ur engine life. Still ,to my knowelge, no car company has had NOS as standard equipment, while both turbos and superchargers have, and are having , a heyday. I tend to like the idea of stepping up with the money right away and then not really having to mess with it.

nitrous is not readily available everywhere... so putting it in a factory car would be a little unreasonable.. that doesnt make it bad.. lol

i didnt say it was bad, im just saying that the turbo and super route are obviously a fine path to choose.

In my experiences it's quite simple.

Nitrous will not blow a motor up unless the motor's compression was already far off from the get go or the proper mixture wasn't created upon installation - USER ERROR.

This holds true with all forced induction applications. We know these motors can handle a beating, and a good one too - just make sure your application is ready to go - your compression and leak down go well and your fuel pump is pushing enough PSI to accomodate.

The only variable in this is boosting or squeezing far too much ( PSI / Shot ), again, that's a common sense issue almost though.

Sorry the N2O Saleen Focus doesn't count.

The bottle comes empty and the wiring is incomplete. Besides the fact that it is a factory Focus that got sent to Saleen after Ford built it.

WHAT????!!!! !

The Saleen Focus is not an SVT. Off the bottle it only makes 150bhp

The Focus SVT only makes 170bhp. Not 200

A Focus SVT and EM1 Civic Si are almost dead even in performance in spite of the Civic giving up 10bhp and only having a 5 speed.

well there, i stand corrected. there is one car that came with nitrous. however, there have been probably a hundred turbo or supercharged cars over the past 100 years that came that way straight from the manufacturer.
