well, i pay about 180 a month for insurance.. and i pay bi-weekly through my credit union for the financing bit of the car... so it's about 130/every 2 weeks for 5 years. yeah, i put a good chunk down and financed 15k of the car. it's the only real way i could afford it. bank account still hurts though :(

i'm 23. haven't had a ticket since i was 19. i also have 2 cars, which gave me a bit of a discount. a lot of evo owners my age are paying around 1500/6 months i think. i go through esurance, which is by far the cheapest i could find.

i love your car i want either one of those or an sti i have yet to drive an evo i wann know what that is like. my freind has an sti and he lets me drive it. i love the feel of 1st gear when the turbo kicks in and you know you are gone.

1st pic is old, as is the pic in the first post. the second pics w/stock rims is how the car looks now... sold the black rims :( (they got curbed and nicked).. i just felt like it was time for something else. if you notice the car isn't as shiney either... :( needs a wax job pretty badly... you'll also notice the leaves are on the trees in the pic w/the black wheels ;)

ekshowciv,

well the sti's power is just about right on tap... the evo's turbo doesn't kick in till about 3000rpm, so it's quite exhilirating going from lag to all the power right there  i like it a lot. i haven't driven an STi extensively, but the evo's definitely more responsive in the handling department. STi, as far as i can tell, is a better daily driver. the evo gets more tiring on long trips and doesn't have cruise control. if you want something more raw, then get the evo. if you want something you can live with a little better day-to-day and has an awesome powerband, then the STi's your car. it's pretty much what all the articles say. the evo has a raw, responsive feel to it that is hard to explain. at the limit it feels like it could understeer or oversteer with just your slight input, whereas the STi seems a tad more sluggish and understeers easier (it feels more like a fwd car than the evo). also, you never feel like your car is out of control, it's very confidence-inspiring, and very predictable in the corners. simply put, i chose the evo because it's easy to make power, but not so easy to get a chassis to handle as well.

scc did extensive tests with both the new evo and the new sti, they not only commented that they thought the evo had more potential as a track car, but the evo would also be their pick as a daily driver OVER the sti

i think that was the MR edition, which has bilstein shocks which gave up .01g in the skid i think but was definitely more comfortable than the STi.

this is the second year in a row they've ranked the evo above the sti though
you're correct, it was the MR this year... but i thought last year it was thier regular trim that was tested

they also named the evo the car of the year (playboy named it tuner car)!!! haha... and i dunno, you may be right about them choosing the evo as a better daily driver last year, just doesn't make much sense to me i guess

but forbes chose the STi over the Evo :(

anyway

just picked this badboy up yesterday!
