he's from peru, which is north of chile. no vehicles in south america are usdm. period. it's a lot less expensive to get the vehicles directly from japan than from the US, since you guys charge so much f'n $$$, and most of latin america has treaties with japan.
btw, i doubt he'd take the time and money to swap the bumpers, swap the mirrors, and install the sideskirts, when they are all readily available here in a vehicle in latin america.
usdm isn't everything, and countries in the same continent do get different cars....such as the honda fit (aka honda city)... it got here about 2 years ago, i test drove one last year. they're fun lil cars.
