rear speakers are just for ambience anyway. if i do run a rear stage in a car its usually very low and in mono. ideally you want the bulk of the sound to be coming from where you are sitting. but if you like rears, run 'em.
as far as removal keys im not going to be much help. i assume you are talking about the thin strips of metal you slide down each side to remove the head unit from the sleeve. whatever you have should work. you just need something thin to slide down each side to seperate the little locking mechanism on the side.
ive used everything from butter knives to slim jims in the past. it'll come out. just fiddle with it a bit. worse case go to lowes and get a few inches of plumbers strap (its just a thin strip of metal with some pre drilled holes)...shove a piece in each side and pull the deck out.
Yeah, those thin strips of metal are exactly what I mean. I thought all keys were generic/universal, but apparently not, they're all different corresponding with different production years. I ended up having to pull the whole dash(including the HVAC controls, vents, the whole deal)
If u wanna keep the rears, run them off hu power
How would I do that though? Because the Alpine I have in there now only has one set of preamps--rear, and I have that connected to the amp.
EDIT:wait, answered my own question, the wires..DUH
Anyways, I greatly appreciate all of the help guys, but I afraid some of it was for naught, as I have decided to buy somethign different.
