Yeah new altenator needed. AT LEAST 1 other battery. And a 5F Cap should help..

You wont have any room left but it can be done. I have installed 2 18" Kickers in a CRX before (152db SPL)

dude.. you could not even put an alternator that would put out enough power in a Civic. the largest one I could find was 150 amps per current. sure, extra batteries and caps... but the source has to be upgraded too. 18s are a stupid waste of money when you can get that kind of SPL out one speaker.

unless you plan on dB drag racing and showing your car all over the place, SPL is a waste of time anyways. you're an idiot if you go driving around w/ 140 dB blasting in your ears.

That 150A will run it fine... You might get some voltage sag even with the 5F cap and an extra battery.... but not much. Not enough to where it will hurt any components.

EDIT: The stock alt in betting you burn out in a short while

... That'll happen with my system, and my amplifier doesn't pull as much power as a friggin' 2500w amplifier.

To each their own but that'll be an annoying power issue, especially you're throttle monkey.

u would be surprised how much an extra deep cycle marine battery and an appropriate cap will help prevent those issues.

I have an appropriate deep cycle, and two 1 farad caps. during normal listening it doesn't really happen, but for any volume about... oh, idk, 18, it will.

interior lights, yes, at any real substantial volume. and I have a 150 amp alternator. it's to be expected when the amps together are pulling out 140-170 amps. that's why I'm saying, sure, everything like 5 farad capacitors and extra batteries will help but it'll always have issues with an amp like that trying to pull power from a honda.

that huge planet audio amp has got to draw ungodly power from the car. no matter how much reserve power you have, the car still has to be producing the power the equipment needs,.

put it in a jeep or something. ;)

Also, that Wattage # he gave us was PEAK @ 1Ohm...... Im guessing hes not running 1 at 1Ohm... Im sure its 2 or more likely 4Ohm....which is only 800X1 RMS.... I dont think that amp is as power hungry as you think... =)

Similar but not anything like that ehh............thats not possible.

There is no way those 18s are getting the space they need to do their job proprerly...

na man dont worry about it.
is for competition. for example, here every sunday theres a meet in a really big gas station where vehicles be going head to head to see whose system sounds better, whoever looses has to turn off their system and go home.

ill try to post pics of our next meet so u guys can see wat im talking about

I didn't look at the specs on the amp. it'll still be pretty power hungry though. I'm only running about 1600w through my system and I had to upgrade my electrical.
