Around here they use a computer system called MCT where they can Lookup plates and licenses, IM other police units... its really getting advance, my friend who is the Corporal for our PD was showing me this s**t the other day

i used to have a radar detector then got rid of it to discipline myself. now i hardly drive 5 over and dont have that urge to punch it

Actuallty, he's already stated that usually he does feel like driving like grandma. Just when he gets together with his friends at night he likes to street race. Orginized street racing is completely different than everyday driving or deciding to race in the middle of traffic because someone revved on you.TougeRunner said:
I second talking to Genuine Rolla about them to get an idea of what might be best for you. I'd also heavily recommend checking out your local laws to see how hard you're going to have to hide this thing and how much trouble it can get you into.

having a REAL like stolen police radio is stupid and will land you in jail.. scanner does the same thing..

While that page I just linked here in this post gave me no problems, when I went to his homepage for that site I wasn't able to use the right click at all. I'm using Firefox and I couldn't even close the tab for his window or click to look at my other pages. I could still scroll up and down his page, but all of his links reacted as though they were dead.
I'd copy the info from his page here, but he has all these copyright notices there to say he'll sue you if you copy his information anywhere else (doesn't even seem happy if you link to it and cite the source).

Yeah just get a digital scanner from radio shack or something. They cost from $50 to $200 and are like 100 channel to 1000 channel. I have a uniden bearcat and I love it. It is a 100 channel programmable scanner. You can also get the frequencies on the internet or at your local radio shack. They are really cool and last a long time. Mine is 15 years old. Good investment if you ask me. Or you could buy used old police radios with up to 16 channels but the downside is you have to have the frequency programmed into and that costs money $$. I do security and the cops used the Motrola MT-1000. They have like a 50 mile range.
