interesting idea.....but just get a fookin alarm.
Like Chow said, if they can get under your hood that alarm probably wont last long. At least if you relocate the wire they will have to set off the alarm first after breaking the window. If you hide the pull it will take that much longer...Unless they do something with the alarm brain itself.
I actually took off my doorlocks off on the inside so they would have to climb in threw the window. And hopefully cut theirself on the way in.

you mean the hood popper in the car? i unbolted mine and let it hang behind the plastic panel. it takes a bit more time to get down there and feed it through the hole so you can pull it.

Well yeah, but the cable that runs to the hood latch has easy access from the outside its just under the splash sheild.

most thieves just punch out the front grill and open it that way.

Im sure you need to open the bumper to do that?

Anyway...
Someone once tried stealing my old CRX, They done the locks and the alarm well off... but as some CRX owners know on the older models (89) The hood clip breaks... so the thieve was there trying so hard to pull this thin metal cable. I slept through the whole alarm :P anyway next morning i see my door lock broken & the cable hanging out, it had a lil blood on it... either the thieves cut themselves or the previous owner....funniest thing though is if they looked at the driver side door pocket they might have notice the big pair of appliers I leave to poop the hood incase I need to open it  hehe

i dont see this really helping at all

any thief worth their salt never needs to pop the hood :???:

you can hotwire, bypass the alarm, and cut the siren all without popping the hood...

it's actually louder and more time consuming to pop the hood

you want a good theft deterrant? sell your civic................

haha. relocate it to like your glove box, then glue razorblades under the old one. lol. Ooh. and have a mcd's salt pouch in there so when it is tilted it will simultaneously pour salt into the wound.

or. Glue BARBED HOOKS under there. So when they try it, they get stuck. Then they'd be stuck there till someone got them. haha. Or you'd have a chunk or two of hand under there. OOOOHHHHH.. Hook the fishhook up to a powersource. Then they'll be elctrocuted. haha one hook is attatched to the battery. The 2nd or 3rd ones are a ground. hahaha Oh. and the salt idea could also be apllied here.

you mean like... i dunno... unplug it?

most thieves will unplug the alarm which bypasses the ignition kill and the siren
very few theives will pop the hood to dissable an alarm... unless you've also hidden the brain under the hood

if for some reason you re-locate the hood pop, the glove box is probably the WORST place to put it
if they cant take your car, the first thing they're going to do is open your glove box and your center consol looking for valuables

there's nothing under the hood that cant by bypassed under the dash
making it harder to get under your hood is as much of a theft deterrant as hiding your trunk popper

Heh, I guess... I'm an electric retard so if that works then.... thats easy...
At least it they were gonna break into the car from the hood then it would be more difficult... but whatever you have deflated my sense of security... gonna go turn up my shocksensor now. :scurred:

i herd you can put a small backup battery under your dash and also an extra siren......so when they cut the battery under your hood....the other siren is still going off inside of your car..

Get the back up battery under the dash, put conduit on your power wire to the battery so they can't just cut it under the car, relocate the cable to your hood, put a pain generating piezo siren under the dash for when they try to find your alarm, and most of all install your alarm yourself. shops have a tendency to be lazy and just install that stuff in the same spot and very easy to get to. Also electical tape your ignition wires that go to the fuse box and cover them with conduit so it is imposable for them to cut. There are many more ideas but just think like a thief and you will learn how to protect your car.

a piezo siren

i have on under my dash always, if they're gonna attempt to find my alarms brain then they're gonna end up with permanent hearing loss ;)
