Project Slideways Begins.... (56k I feel your pain)

I finally got the S14 on Tuesday.... I was without a car for a couple weeks, although it didnt matter too much.... I got about $5k from my Civic and I allready knew what I wanted, so the hunt began.... My brother and I found one on Autotrader on Monday and decided to check it out on yesterday, we ended up buying it... Here is the info...

The Good
-Its what I wanted...
-It was $3k....
-The interior is as close to perfect as you are going to find...
-Engine runs great....
-I love the color, a greyish purple that changes slightly depending on the lighting.... Gonna look awesome with some bronze wheels...
-It is fun as hell to drive (even with a couple things wrong with it....
-Its mine....

The Bad
-ITS AN AUTOMATIC.... But not for long.... I got the hook up on a lot of parts.....
-The shocks are spent, but new ones are allready ordered....
-The paint is kinda bad in a couple spots, but its not terrible....
-The hood is completely destroyed.... Scratches, spots from an old decal, so on.... But that just gives me an excuse to buy a cf hood....
-Engine is leaking oil slightly, but not too bad.... Gonna try and fix that tomorrow as well as changing the valve color to a black one....
-The car needs to be slightly de-riced.... Not much, but you can tell the last owner didnt know what he was doing....
-The wheels were changed for stock S13 ones.... Why, I dont know... But they arent terrible.... They're white too, but that will be remedied tomorrow...

Here are some quick pics from today after I gave her her first bath, wasn't a full detail just a wash and general cleaning.... I plan on a good photoshoot very soon, just got a couple things that need to be done before that.... 8)

I have a good amount of money to fix most of the things wrong with it, and then some.... I am VERY happy with my purchase... Nothing is more fun than sliding out the rear.... 8)

Look for a good amount of updates... Whenever I get a new part, BAM, pictures....
And don't worry about me leaving, I could never turn my back on my CC brethren...

Not quite.... I will be helping, probably, but I won't be doing it myself.... I know what to do, just not how to do it.... Almost all of my brother's friends drive 240s, so I have the hookup on parts.... One of his friends just put an RB20det into his S14, so he has a spare transmission laying around... Gonna get that for cheap... The same guy will be doing the conversion too, he has done it a couple of times before....

It is gonna be a GREAT project.... Fun as hell to drive right now, and the suspension is no where NEAR what it will be soon.... And the auto hampers the fun too, but like I sad still fun as hell to drive...

I'm gonna need to buy new tires soon, with all the thrashing I've done to my current ones today and yesterday....

I think I am just gonna make a pretty strong KA... Don't really feel the need to spend that much money on an SR or RB... But I might in the future...

As for mod plans.... I ordered some KYB GR-2 shocks today, and will be ordering springs (Tein S.Techs maybe) and polyurethane bushings very soon... Along with some sway bars and strut bars the suspension will be good.... Get the transmission, good axle (650 whp max ), B&M short shifter, the other misc parts for manual conversion, and get that in.... After that it is the compulsory exhaust, intake, maybe header too... Probably throw an exhaust cam on the intake side as well, little power boost and I can get the cam cheap.... Get the exterior fixed so it doesnt look QUITE as ghetto as it does right now... This all depends on how much money I can get togethor this summer, and how cheap I can get parts too... During school I won't be getting quite as much stuff....

In reality I HAVE to repaint it at some point..... I just don't know when I will want to....

But for $3k I couldn't pass this up, with all the other things that are good with the car and the fact I didn't know when I would find another one, I had to jump on it....

Well, last night I had my first taste of defeat... Self-inflicted defeat... I decided to show off for one of my friends while he was riding in the car, so I tried to do a nice little power slide around a turn... Well I didnt quite have control of it this time, and it didnt turn out too good.... I ended up spinning out, finished facing the other direction.... Nothing got damaged, and nobody got hurt, the road was barren.... But it gave my friend and myself a nice little scare....

Today was a pretty good workshop day.... Got a lot of things done and figured out... We took off the wheels and spray painted them gunmetal, definitely not the best job but it does what it needs to.... When we took that off we found that my front passenger tie rod was bent, so I get to replace that, yay.... We changed the oil, although it looked like we didnt need to.... We also found that the oil leak is being caused by a leaky head gasket, and that is great fun to replace in a KA.... But we got a lot done, and it was fun doing a little hands on work.... Haven't done that in a while....

Diff, yes... Headlights, no.... Why spend the money on a conversion when it can definitely be spent somewhere better... Suspension and Engine take MUCH higher priorities then that....
Plus I actually really like the look of the Zenki models.... Kinda looks like an R33 skyline....
