Well I've been thinking lately about this stupid leaky gasket.... Well, we aren't quite positive it is the gasket, but it might be (hopefully we are wrong).... If it is a leaky gasket, I might be seriously considering doing an SR20 swap..... Changing the head gasket on a KA is a HUGE pain, so it would be much easier just to swap the engine.... And if I am gonna be swapping the engine then might as well go with something better...

Hopefully I don't have to do this, I don't have the money.... And if you are wondering why an SR, Panges, its because an RB is a HUGE pain in the ass to get everything right.... :P ;)

hell yeah bro!!! hope she doesn't stay auto for long
I hope it won't be too long either.... The way things are looking, if the oil leak is in the head gasket, then I know where I can get an S14 front clip (w/ SR20Det) and that will speed things along GREATLY, since that will basically have everything I need.... But if the leak either isn't in the head gasket, or this NO Leak stuff fixes it, then I will need to keep hunting down every piece I need for the conversion....

Got some prices for a couple parts from JJ.... Pretty good... :D

lol, trust me, if anyone knows... I know RB's are a huge pain in the ass... took over a year and it JUST got completed. lol. Long project... If i got an sr20, my car woulda been running like a year ago. lol. R33 RB25's are easy to do... I was stupid and thought it'd be cool to have an R34 and that's why mine took so long. Lol, the thing u have to realize about Nissan... is that they're really the Ford of Japan. There's always going to be something wrong. lol

Hahaha.... Trust me when I say I KNOW how much RBs are a pain in the ass, too.... My brother is putting an RB20 in his S13 Fastback, and it isn't going as smooth as we wanted..... We are going towards a year and half since he has driven his car..... :scurred:

what's going wrong with his swap? I took the easiest way possible by going with mckinney mounts, driveshaft, and downpipe... I also had them do my wire harnesses for me... that's what took a year.. because no one had the R34 wire diagrams for hte longest time..

Believe me, I would love to.... But there is a little thing called money that is getting in the way...

Well he has allready spun the bearings in one engine, so he had to get another long block... Now they are afraid that they will spin the bearings in there as well... And it has been hard as hell to find bearings for the RB.... Been a pain in the ass.... He is getting real close to the point of just saying screw it, and if the bearings do spin he'll just buy another block....

He has been running into a LOT of problems with it.... Kinda turned me off on the whole RB swap.... :???:

was there anthing else wrong with the motor that would cause him to spin the bearings? make sure he still has a properly runnin oil pump and holding oil pressure.

plus dont let your brothers bad experience scare you. show him up with swapping yours correctly.

I've noticed that most people with civics like 240s too... Hehe....

Update on parts ordered...

My KYB GR-2s are sitting in my garage, while the Tein Tie Rod and Tie Rod Ends are sitting in my room...

Waiting on Tie Rod Dust Boots, need replacements before I install the tie rods.... STILL waiting on my Tein S. Techs.... Really pissing me off, b/c I don't even think they have been shipped yet....

Ordered Tanabe Sustec Front and Rear Strut Bars today.... Ordered a B&M Short Shifter today as well.... I allready have the trans and ecu pretty much (just haven't payed).... Now I gotta find the interior trim crap, pedals, master cylinder, shift boot, shift knob, and anything else I need.... Gonna talk to the guy who is doing the swap for me tomorrow and get a comprehensive list....

I've been driving without blinkers for a few days now.... At first I thought I blew a fuse, but that wasn't it.... It isn't the bulbs either.... The emergency blinkers are working fine, so I guess that when I pull down the lever the relay isn't triggered for whatever reason....

I gotta get this fixed.... Really annoying, and not to mention kinda dangerous.... :???:

No more bouncing down the road.... Only a tight ass suspension.... 8)

We installed Tein S. Techs, KYB GR-2s, and Tein Tension Rods.... It took longer then I thought, but was DEFINITELY worth it.... 8)
You won't see any pictures of the drop until I get it aligned, washed, and do a good photoshoot.... ;)

Also fixed my blinkers, so the car is 20 times better then yesterday....

I have a bunch of parts on the way for the Manual swap.... All I need now is to buy a clutch and flywheel kit (not gonna be anything crazy), driveshaft (I think), the interior trim and shift boot, and to pay for the parts from my friend as well as recieve the other parts.... After I get those parts its manual time....

And we think that the oil leak is coming from either a leaky pump or a leaky line..... The oil was too far spread for just a leaky head gasket....

It still needs a couple more things, such as my tie rods installed, my strut bars to come in, polyurethane bushings, rear control arms, and some sway bars..... But compared to what it used to be, it is MAD Tyte yO....
