So I just put a new D16Y7 in my car ( couldnt afford to do a vtech swap) and I was driving up to a red stop light. it stayed red I swear for about 10 minutes, then this red thunderbird v6 rolls up. It has 2 people in it and they are doing little brake stands and what not thinking that they look cool. So I just readied for it and as soon as the light turned green we took off. I was ahead until about 85 mph and then he started pulling. He almost past me around 110 and then he governed out, so im counting this as a win. My 110 horse 4 cylinder beat his almost 200 horse V6 =]

I'm glad you won a street race. Maybe take it to the tracks next time? Oh yea, thunderbirds are turds IMO.

It's really hard to imagine that a 106 bhp motor (more like 90 whp) beat a 200bhp v6. I guess weight issue would have a lot to do with it.

Assuming this is the typical redneck thunderbird (90-97), the 3.8l v6 model makes 145hp & 215trq while the 4.6l v8 model makes 205hp & 280trq. These cars are also roughly an upwards of 3500+ lbs; they're pigs!

*The run would be believable if the OP ran the slower 3.8l v6 automatic... If it had been either an auto or manual v8 model, then the OP wouldn't have a chance... The supercharged v6 models are pretty beastly too!
