whatever brand u get, just a tip and if its cordless, mount up right up by your rear-view mirror and the cops wont be able to see it very well as if its just on the windsheild. and for gods sake people, if u get pulled over, take the damn thing off and put it where the cop wont see it, it just pisses them off.
A Harrison Ford lookalike CHP pulled me over one day and I had left the radar on visible to the chp's eye and didnt say a word. If its legal, they wont say much about it. They would rather pimp you on what you did to get pulled over.EX 2000 said:

personally I wouldn't own a radar detector, it works just fine obeying the laws for me.... They watch me so close being close to the only import in town (went up, two 95-99 Eclipse Turbos in town as of last night), I don't try stupid stuff, maybe squeal my tires every once in a while, very rarely do that even, did last night though

sum kid here has that in his m3, that b***h lets us know where they're at with a decent amount of time to react. but when ur goin 110 in a 55 you cant really do a whole lot even with v1.mymmeryloss said:

two things about cobra:
1) it does pickup wrong signals
2) mine must be the retarded bunch.
it said that there was a train approaching. the thing is, i live in the florida keys. THERE ARE NO TRAINS!!!!!!!!! i was driving by the airport at about 9-10pm (marathon key) goin home (key west) when that stupidass warning started goin off. it did it for 5min all thru marathon, and never again since. i didnt even know it could pick up train signals. but that was the first/last time so far

id say from personal experience the cobra's are alright. but cops dont always leave they're radar's on.. thats what these systems pick up. i have had plenty of cops passby and the radar stay quiet as a mouse. so its really easy for the cop just to sit there with his radar off. point it. pull the triger get ur time and then ur done. its so quick that ur radar wont have time to pick it up or by the time it tells you your speed has already been clocked. so id say DONT GO CHEAP on a radar. spend the extra money on the k40 is it? something like that someone check that please. they have 2 types of systems one that is integrated into the front and rear bumper and is displayed IN your gauge cluster which is f**king raw and amazing and the conventional type that u stick on the dash board. both work great and have a radar and lazer jammer. it worth every penny. and they gaurantee to pay ANY speeding ticket you get. sound sweet ey?

i say spent the money and go for a valentine 1 and other radar detector on the moter trend list you are going to need to buy additional piece to get laser. like the k40 someone said, in order to see laser you need to something else. me and my brother made i trip to miami about two year ago with a valentine 1 going all the way above 100 and made it to miami in 13 hour. that thing work great every time it went off we was a cop and had enough time to slow down. get the Valentine 1
