highway will pick up everything... some things will not be cops, like automatic doors at walmart, or win-dixie. Or motion detectors.
City will not pick those things up, but you run the risk of not picking up cops that use radar on same frequency as automatic doors etc.
I use highway, just because you will not pick up some cops on city (because you are blocking the lowest freq.)
Its a little more annyoing, but worth not getting a ticket for.
You'll learn on your daily route what things it beeps at everytime you pass, and learn to ignore them.

My wife has yours, and it sucks... I have one like this, and its much better.
Oh, and read the directions thoroughly... and Never Depend on your radar. Its not Cop proof.

Leave it on highway all the time. That is what I do. It'll get annoying changing it from city and highway all the time and you may forget.

Leave the VG-2 on all the time. It won't hurt and it'll let you know if anyone is looking around.

That's the one I got. It has saved my ass numurous times on the way to work. Damn good detector for the price.

Save you money and get a decent detector if you keep looking on ebay you can find a used x50 or solo s2 for around $150.00 there is no comparison between the escort and whistler/cobras!

hmmm...well i got mine today and its acting weird......i gotta couple of questions?

1) the light on the vg-2 always stays on even when i push the vg-2 button? is it supposed to do that???

2) today during drving around testing it out it went off like every 5-10 secs thru town....i also had my system on which shakes it a bit....could the bass cause a prob/????
