When you installed the pulley, did you just slip the timing belt off the cam gear and then slip it back on once it was changed?

No that was a brand new timing belt, it took a minute or two to get it back on. It was kinda a pain in the ass, because the new cam gear was rubbing a a piece of plastic behind the gear and caused the belt to jump and made this wierd rubbing noise. So we had to take it back off cut that piece out then reset the tiiming and getting the belt back on the second time was a struggle for a minute or two. Once we got it on we ran it to find out that we were a tooth off and set it again and she ran like a champ.

Well we started about 9am and counting the hickup of my alt. (thats a long painful story) the small cam gear problem I say about 8 hours, but thats including the time waiting for the headers to show up from UPS, and running to Auto Zone for a new Alt.

I notice alittle bit or power but it's not like some of these kids that calculate what the websites tell you, (ie: "lets see they say 10-15 hp on my headers and 5-7 on my pulleys and 7-10 on my cam so lets just take the high number and WOW I HAVE 32 EXTRA HP. ") NO. I probably say I got a 10 hp increase total, I notice now that I have a complete I/H/E system that I flow better and I say that it still has a ways to go but with time comes money and with money come more mods. I don't know what I want to do next, I think I might do something towards suspension next time or cosmetics. Thanks for the props, I beileve in DIY because otherwise how are you suppose to learn abou this hobby and about your car, I don't feel like paying joe schmoe a arm and a leg to tell me about my car. Thats why there are books and friends somebody will always know how to do something or the answers will be someplace like here or another site. One day I will be ready for ROTM.

Not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but just follow the directions that came witht the pulleys. Pretty much just pulling off the pulleys for your Alt, and your Power Steering unit and replace them with the new one, YOU CAN NOT USE YOUR STOCK BELTS!!.. They will not fit. You should of got new belts with the pulleys when you bought it. The shorter belt of the two(New ones) goes to the alt, and the bigger one goes to your Power Steering. Oh they say you dont need to remove your alt, but I found it easier if you do. I mean if you need help just post somebody will be able to help you.

I don't know my wife bought them with my cam gear and headers for me before I pulled in off this last deployment. Hell when she buys me something for the car I don't ask questions, I just give thanks to the car gods for my wife buying me something that has to do with it. lol

yeah and no I mean I has so much other s**t going on with the cam gear and the headers that it all seem to be alot of work, but when I sit down and think about it they weren't that bad, I mean the power steering was kinda of easy because its right there, the alt probably was the biggest pain because you have to get under the car and s**t, but it all worked out in the end. The only fear I have is not being able to keep my current battery charged with the new pulley. I think if I get a battery with more crank amps I should be alright though.

hhhmm, you'd think with a lighter pully that would meen less strain on the altinator less strain on the battery
so on and so forth.

Nice DIY, I just put in a DC header and hi flow cat yesterday, which completes my I/H/E, same as you, but I found that my check engine light came on? Has this happened to you? I am at work now so I haven't had the chance to take a look at my car, so i'm just askin' in advance. thanks...
