Looks like your front bumper doesn't fit quite right... Also, new headlights are your friend (got my two week old oems for free. just had to wait for someone to be replacing new ones with aftermarket ones.). Oh, and Milano Red can look great, it just looks like yours has some oxidation. Take a day to detial her and you'll be alot happier. =) That will also make it easier to wash later (because it will feel like glass and s**t won't stick to the car so badly).
you nailed it all, lol. the front bumper has GOT to be an aftermarket piece i think, because the paint job on it was complete crap, and has been flaking off all over the place. i'm hoping eventually to replace the headlights/bumpers with SiR pieces. and yes, my car needs a detail job sooooo bad. needs to be claybarred and waxed. just need to get some time and a good spot of shade to work on it, lol.

Don't forget the glaze too. ;) Adding depth is always good for our paint. And don't worry. When my bumper was repainted before I bought it, well it seems someone forgot the flex agent. :???:

yes, the flex agent is what was missing from mine as well, i'm sure. plus they painted the entire bumper, and didn't mask off the big center grill section. so i had to use some paint stripper in there to take the rest of the red paint out. oh well. when i get the SiR bumpers, i can retire these crappy things to winter-status only, lol.

Honnestly, I don't think SiR bumpers look good on cars that don't keep the trim black, but that's just IMHO. I'm planning on doing a full sir conversion for the exterior (cept for the mirrors), and the only part I'm having trouble finding is the front valence and the rear duckbill. :-/

thanks man. i really loved that shot. even though i'm still rocking steelies, scrubbing the tires and repainting those wheels really helped the look.

opinions go both ways on painted SiR bumpers, but i like the look. and due to the rarity of the SiR front lip, plus me wanting to paint the moldings, i might end up going with a CTR front lip. i've seen some VTi's from europe with color-matched moldings and the CTR lip, and i think it looked awesome. plus its just one more thing about my car that will set it off from the many others, ya know?

maybe i finally decided on some wheels, lol. after doing this photo-chop, i really love the way these 16" rota grids look on my car:

might be able to buy em in another month or two.

how much is it lowered?
this is the Eibach Pro-Kit on stock shocks, and they are rated for a 1.4" drop.

bringing this thread back!

well, i finally picked up my first Falken Hanabi wheel today. I'm going to be ordering the other three sometime before spring. here are some pictures of the wheel installed early today in our crappy rain/snow Iowa weather...

i really love the way they look. they are 15x7 and weigh 11 lbs per rim (and a whopping 30.5 lbs each with tire installed). i ordered the wheel/tire from edgeracing.com and am very satisfied with their service and packaging.

time for comments!

I'd like them....if it were slammed. And i can't believe you only ordered ONE RIM

What happens if they stop making them? hahahaha

i doubt they'll stop making them within the next 4-5 months, and if they did, i guess i'd just have to keep it for a spare tire.

also, i only ordered one rim because not many people have these wheels and photochops just weren't enough for me. i wanted to see the wheel right in front of me bolted on to my car, so i only ordered one. that way if i really hated it i would just have a $160 spare wheel.

the car is back on 4 steelies right now. i'm definitely not driving it around with only one rim, lol.

cookie: yeah, this weather sucks ass. i had to put the wheel on the back to show off the rear disc brakes, lol :D

jezek: i'm hoping to get the car a little lower eventually, but it'll hafta wait until i can get some new shocks to go with the espelir springs i'm looking at. the espelir springs are about a 2" drop and my current setup is the pro-kit with stock shocks at about 1.25"

here is a new chop i threw together. this one actually started out with a picture of my car, so it feels more like mine than the last chop. i borrowed the front end (CF hood/SiR bumper/SiR lip) from a hatch on H-T.

i probably spent about 2 hours getting everything fitted and lined up right, along with adjusting colors, adding the rims, etc. this chop really gets me psyched about working on the car.

well, its been snowing like crazy out here in Iowa, but I finally broke down and bought a tripod this weekend so I had to go out and take pics. i also read through the manual for my camera and discovered that i have a macro setting and can also adjust all kinds of other cool settings. the first couple pictures give you an idea of what its like to have a daily driven car in Iowa winters....

say yum for Cusco goodies....

and some more of the car, but now it is clean.

i had a lot of fun, besides freezing my hands taking the pictures. i probably took close to 75 shots today messing around with different settings and such. having a tripod DEFINITELY makes it easier to take pics and they turn out looking better.
