I would surely hope the dummy would never race again, or take it to the track out pure respect for his friend who was lost in the endeavor. Something tells me that you're the kind of person that would mope about it for a month or two until the story blew over and then you'd be out there doing the same stupid stuff again. I think that's obvious in your saying that he won't be racing for 'a little while'.
