I'm going on 95k miles and haven't replaced my timing belt yet for my 98 ex. Money is extremely tight right now and i'm resorting to my credit card that has a $1,000 limit. Was planning on dropping the $220 to get my new rims/tires mounted/balanced and aligned. But realizing that i'm within the mile range to replace my timing belt, that is kind of making me nervous.
If I had to choose, i'd do my timing belt which would roughly go for $400-$500?.... BUT then i'd have to hold off another month with my fresh rims/tires laying around my room TEASING ME and have to drive on rusty rinky dink looking steelies
I could do both rather than choosing one, but I don't wanna risk the chance of not getting enough money prior to the month ending to pay off my credit card.
pretty much i'm in a dilemma over what's necessary and what's NOT.
I looked at the timing belt and its not tearing or looks beat up. I hardly ever bang out gears. all i could say is that it has a slight browning color to it (rust?) but very minimal.
thoughts?
