Safest PSI on stock intenals

if i were to get the greddy turbo kit on the stock d16 and if i were to upgrade the emange blue box s**t to like hondata for example would if be safe to say i could run 8 psi on 93 octane gas after being tuned for a daily driver?

yes. 8psi is ok, but no more or you'll risk your rods.

not necessarily. it depends on your fuel management. ive witnessed a z6 with just an fmu (11 disc), link, stock injectors run 10 psi daily....and still be running perfectly fine for almost a year.

i would say anything under 10 would be fine, but just for saftey reasons i wouldnt go over 6 or 7 EVERY DAY i mean hell are you really gonna need 3 more pounds of boost at a redlight with a grandma in her buick beside you? for more on this you should check out www.turbod16.com

3 could be all the difference....I know on a B16, the rods are a little beefier, they are built a little more stout so on mine, I am going to boost 12-14 stock internals, but I'm not sure on a D16, I would imagine anywhere from 10-12

The guy down the street from me ran 15 psi on stock internals and guess what... he's got a new motor now...

d series rods are hella weak, and this kid doesnt know jack, so its better safe than sorry imho.

Yeah...you don't wanna spend all that money on a turbo kit and then blow your engine. Just play it safe and stick around 7 psi. i've seen much higher on stock rods but it's not worth it to take that chance. It's not driving around in a boosted civic at 7psi isn't going to be fun!

true i'm asking this because i heard at such a low psi for example like 6 when you get a blow off valve you can't even hear it..... is this true?

wow i think you got your priorities mixed or however you spell it yes you can run 8psi on stock internals, safely its just all about tuneing.

lol....i think its funny that peeps refer others to turboD16 and the majority of them run over 8 psi on stock internals. There's usually a minor upgrade like injectors or a headgasket and they've been running good for awhile. I know a guy in my town running at 10 psi on a D16Y8 with the TD05 GReddy turbo and type 21 intercooler which is meant for the Si's. All stock internals and he's been boosting for 2 years now. personally i think its all just minor maintenance that makes the difference under those high boost conditions. but like others have said, just ride at lower boost to be safe......higher settings have been done, but you just might have bad luck
