i probably should resay waht i said. psi is a pretty meaningless number, the important number is flow and hp. 200 hp is about the limit of d series rods, be it 7 psi on a t3/4 or 12 psi on a t-25. any more than that, and you get real marginal in terms of strenght and reliability. the pistons arent far behind that. b series internals are good for a bit over 300 whp, thanks to thicker forged rods, stronger pistons, and much tighter tolerances, and a general higher build quality in terms of performance. any more, and again, the rods get marginal at that point. but by far the biggest killer of high performance motors- be it n/a, turbo, nitrous, or any combo of those is detonationn. controlling that with proper fuel and ignition curves goes much further than anything else in determining reliability of a motor.
