your tach goes crazy? check your grounds. mainly the one on the thermostat. make sure they are all getting a good connection. the tach wont just go crazy unless something electrical is causing the problem. sounds like my brothers hatch. did the same thing. the ground on the T-stat wasnt tightened down all the way.
electrical could be one of the problems but the car will also rev on its own from different problems....vacuum leak is usually the problem.....make sure all the hoses are connected to the intake manifold....also all the carbon that came out when you seafoamed it may have fouled an o2 sensor which would also make it rev up on its own

Yeah but you have a Lamborghini. Civics are different.

Seafoam is fine if used properly.

OP: What volume of Seafoam did you draw into the IM? You may have used too much and flooded the cylinders, thereby increasing blow-by gases, pressurizing the crankcase, and blowing the plug wire off. I have read about many instances where removing a plug wire from a running engine will damage the coil in the distributor. Therefore, you may want to test the coil.

Ive used it, worked fine for me..no problems.. did you let the car sit for 5-10 mins after putting it in the vacuum line?

Change your plugs and or wires. I dont know why you would follow other people when the proper directions are on the can. theres your 1st FAIL.

Make sure car is at normal operating temp

U use a 3rd of can and use brake booster vacuum line, and once its in there, you shut car off for 5-10 mins, then start the car un run till smoke clears..

Use a 3rd to oil before an oil change

use a 3rd in fuel to clean fuel system and injectors

IDK how/why that was difficult, they have videos on you tube on how to do it correctly.

Again, having a plug wire disconnected while the engine is running can damage the coil. Pull it out and resistance test it or have it tested at an auto parts store. Did the plug wire that popped off have oil on it. If so, you may need to replace the seal in the valve cover and, if they are old, just go ahead and replace the plugs and wires.

thats why i asked if the engine revved up any at all or if the tach was just jumping while the engine speed stayed the same.

if plugs and wires are good then that is out of the picture but with high idle it is usually a vacumm leak try a smoke test sometimes when under the hood messing with taking off a hose u may have pulled off another one on accident or didnt put it on securely but with only three cylanders running then it is fuel spark or mechanical when removing deposits out of your engine with seafoam you may have taken deposits off the valves causing them to not seal well like they did with the carbon deposits(carbon if you have removed it before kind of leaves craters meaning that it breaks away at the valves) so to diagnose that try a cylinder leakage test. and as ronj said a plug wire discharging onto your valve cover or anywhere else could damage your ignition systems

I also forgot to add that when you removed the carbon it had to exit somewhere and that somewhere is through the exhaust so with all that gunk passing your o2 it may have fuk*& it up and causing your engine to read a faulty rich or lean and your pcm would try to over correct for it
