I think the main point of this controversy is being lost here. It's not about whether the S2 product is good or bad, it's about S2 putting out a bounty on two guys on the internet who expressed their well informed dislike for the questionable quality of some S2 products. Whether or not S2 makes good or bad products is neither here nor there for me. My disinterest in their products is the result of S2's harassment of two Honda forum members who expressed a substantiated dislike for low quality S2 products.

Word, this got me a little worried about my skunk2 B-series cams but they've worked a million times before and I didn't really find anything bad about them. These K series ones may have been a bit sketchy and I don't know what exactly happened but Skunk2 is a good company and has had a lot of good quality products up until now. That being said who the hell are the idiots that sent started this "bounty" they should be fired, all this has done is make them loo like immature retards. I still trust skunk2 as a company, at least their older b series stuff. All in all I think this is a good thing. With all this negative publicity they'll be forced to up their quality control and customer service to get the consumers trust back.

from what i've read, i don't think they were bashing their products. they just stated that skunk2's products are made over seas, which skunk2 isn't really hiding. i might've missed something?

skunk2 is taking legal actions because of defamation. not because their products failed.

I doubt that S2 will ever bother those two guys again based on the viral negative responses that S2 has received from their unusual actions. I think S2 is in major damage control mode at this point.

lol real professional of them. I've never been interested in their products and this puts me over the edge for never buying anything from them. One of the most important aspects I look for in a company is their customer service and support. That's gone out of the window for them lol. Not to mention their suspension products just don't make sense to me and aren't worth the money at all.

As for them outsourcing, that's very common and really not that big of a deal as far as quality. The important part is that they have good engineers who know the right materials to use, what works and what doesn't in their designs and that the manufacturer over seas has good quality control.

Soubds like problem was a variety of things betwee. OEM with the low oil pressure to cam gear and also appears that was not just skunk 2 cams messing up. That leads back to OEM deficiencies.

The problem is/was with their cams. They copied them wrong. they got the centerlines wrong. They recommended that you get their exhaust cam gears in order to correct the centerline onthe cams. The guy who discovered this issue, said you can still run the cams as long as you upgrade the tensioner spring, which you do not have to do with ANY OTHER CAMSHAFT for the K series. If that does not tell you anything hopefully the following will: they are now on version 3 of the cams. Why do you think that is? I'm sure you can think of a new excuse. Give it a try.

Let's not forget that they actually came out with 'tensioners' also. Why not run with the 'oem tensioner sucks' kind of like your assumption up above and produce our own tensioners they thought? Well, they did come out with it. They even made a video making fun of their competitor's tensioner at the time: Hybrid Racing. Then their tensioners started getting stuck and blowing up. So what did they do? They RECALLED all of their tensioners that were sold, but you say. . .
