For about a year now, when I gently press the gas a low-pitch whistling noise is heard from under the hood. I have believed its the throttle body, but I dont know. Has anyone ever had this problem?

its the CAI if the only time you hear it is when accelerating... perfectly normal.

The funny thing is I have an AEM CAI ....AND...I've messed with the idle air control valve. My Civic, like many, has a gunked up idle air control unit. I need to get it replaced but I figured I would mess with the screw anyway! I thought I put it back in the original position.

Ever since I removed my exhaust I could actually hear my intake. Sounds nice.

Its on the back if the intake manifold..has a little black tube thing on it which I think is the electric motor. Its how the car sucks air in when your stopped/idle. The screw that open/closes the valve is on the throttle body right above the inlet where your CAI attaches.

Basically, if you have low/erratic idle the idle air control unit is usually the problem. Always check/replace PCV valve first though since thats only $2.00 and a new idle air control is like $150 at the lowest.

When the 6th gen civic idle is too low, usually, unless you played with the rubber stops, the hood will rattle very loud. Twist them in farther to make the noise go away then order a new IAC from Autozone or the dealer.

I know a lot of people hate Autozone but they use Linux so,I gotta support them.
