Basically, if you have low/erratic idle the idle air control unit is usually the problem. Always check/replace PCV valve first though since thats only $2.00 and a new idle air control is like $150 at the lowest.
When the 6th gen civic idle is too low, usually, unless you played with the rubber stops, the hood will rattle very loud. Twist them in farther to make the noise go away then order a new IAC from Autozone or the dealer.
I know a lot of people hate Autozone but they use Linux so,I gotta support them.
