I personally recommend component speakers. slightly more time consuming to do, but sound better

i found a set that is on sale for 85 bucks...theyre gonna be a bit harder to install because theyre components but they are MB quarts and from experience, and from assuming they sound like the other MB quarts ive heard, theyll sound pretty good. theyre 50 watts rms each and with a 90 db sensitivity they should deliver the sound youre looking for. also i would recommend using the same speakers(if you can...if you cant then the same series at least) for front and rear...the reason is is that youll want your speakers voice-matched otherwise youll get the different tones from the unmatched speakers at all frequencies....heres the link

they are dead simple...and many people will agree with me about component systems they sound way better and if you look at the pics of the tweeters and the weird looking round thing (the tweeter enclosure) they have a mounting hole where you can jerry-rig them to your dash or find a place to mount them. and youll be much happier with the MB quarts and components. components arent hard to install they really arent...the wire terminals are all labeled...it takes about as much effort as installing a cheap amplifier that has no settings to adjust...see

see that box looks like a mini amp to me, i have no clue where the tweeters would go lol, and i would have no clue how to conceal the wires and put the boxes and brackets. plus i would also need to purchase another pair of speakers as well.

yes you would have to buy two pairs of speakers you have two pairs of factory speakers you want to replace...andthey are labeled match the wire that goes to positive terminal on your front left mid bass speaker to the positive mid bass terminal on your front left crossover unit and you dont have to know anything special about tucking wires if all the wires are run inside the panels where you cant see them in the first place and if you have any friends or even know anyone that has done stereo work they can help you...its not hard

components are easy. the box will fit right in your door. just cut a circle in your panel, idk if the 7th gen came with tweeter panels on the doors or not. it will be well worth it. they sound a lot better

another member on the road to a crappy setup
Oh you thought that too?

I have yet to see a quality speaker be mentioned in this thread. And no amp to power anything? What is this world coming to?

At least Greg has a good point and said not to buy from CF.

i think i'm gonna skip over most of this thread... but i wouldn't buy a thing from crutchfield.

i'd also rather go ebay or craigslist or something like for sound deadener. retail is insanely expensive.

Crutchfield is only good for headunits since they give you all the stuff you need

Everything else can and should be bought elsewhere
