I am using the SSAC turbo manifold & T3/T04e .50/.63 57trim turbo & they have been holding up just perfect for me... no extra welding or anything. From what im experiencing with it I say good s**t. They have improved greatly from their older manifold were the welds would always break & is reinforce much better with surport rods at the bottom of the mani to help deal with stress

It has everything to do with it because they order the parts from Garrett...

Search homemadeturbo.com or any turbo forum where someone has experimented with the turbo. they will all tell you the internals are from Garrett. All the series they make are the same models developed by Garrett (T25, t28, t3/t4). Their listings even list them as Garrett turbos.
Okay, and i still don't see why Garrett being an American company has anything to do with this...

Tell me about it, I'll be damned if I buy another shitty American product like a craftsman tool, an edelbrock header, flowmaster exhaust, or harley davidson POS!

C'mon guys, cheap U.S. parts suck, but if your willing to pay reasonable $ you can get great "made in the usa" products.

Yeah, Snap-On, Matco, and MAC are crap....far inferior to Tru-Craft (Japan) and Wiha (Germany)

USA still makes the best handtools...anything else? :what: I dunno'

I can show you a pic of a stock DSM TD05 housing cracked in half.. Besides that was a long time ago, & now they use different turbos.

actually check your s**t about before you buy it and that wouldnt happen. people sell believe it or not, FAKE ssautoshit turbo's on ebay. the real ones have a one piece housing, the fakes have a two piece that is closely held together by some kind of adhesive and heat or something. THAT looks like its not a crack, looks like it's taken apart at the 2 piece. ssautochrome = the s**t...even if it does break, you can buy about 2 more and pay the same amount as a regular Garrett or something

ssac components are decent if you buy the real thing. there is a del slo around these parts (or was) that was running this set up and he blew his engine. never had any problems with any of the components, even the manifold. the set up is going to be put on a sir-g engine this spring and hopefully make some decent power. as for crapsman tools, i buy snap on and mac only bc i work in the industry. just last night i broke TWO 3/8 drive ratchets from crapsman at a friends house installing and alternator. the gears were stripped out and they were only a month old =) then the thing on the back to select the direction fell off and hit the ground. i have never had my mac or snap on tools break 1 month into commision. altho i have had my $250 digital caliper screw up and read random numbers... lifetime warranty > *

Its funny...on here everyone says their manifolds suck. On this Nissan forum, everyone says their turbos suck...go fig.

I personally think their manis are good for mild setups and that the turbos are good if you replace the cheap parts. Got to remember, the only thing they make is the housing, all the internals are made by Garrett.
I got my hands on one of their turbos. And it's a Turbonetics Housing with Garrett internals. It's not one of those XSPower stamped ones. Its a T3/T04e, though i heard they dont use that China manufacuturer anymore. Who knows. Its cheap if it breaks i dont care. Im just using the setup as a starter turbo kit so i can get used to everything. Then I'll get a real setup =)

i dont know how much time you actually have to take the turbo on and off all the time or pay for tow truck fees and get stranded.

and how do you guys really know that there are " FAKE" turbos? unless they open it up and show the differences its all just a marketing scheme. its the SAME turbo SSAC has always sold. do you know the guy personally? was the test done by an outside unbiased source? until its proven its all just words out of his mouth as an excuse.

i rather buy the real thing. dont waste time and just get it done right the 1st time and leave it at that.

ive tried two SSAC manifolds. one spiked to hell even after porting out hte wg hole. another cracked at the so called" collector" after 3 weeks and i've had two customers bring intheir manifolds to get rewelded and another tried to but it was so bad i didnt recommend tryin to fix it. believe it or not guys. once its cracked itll crack again. in the same area. just aroudn where you rewelded it again.

so if ur buying from the ssautocrome people on ebay it can still be a fake? cause im willing to give their entire turbo kit a try on my h22...i mean a cracked mani wont harm the motor right? u just loose power?

it'll affect a lot of things, your engine temps wil get hotter b/c teh exhaust gases are escaping into the motor, you're car might run like s**t, if its tuned and it isnt getting enough air or fuel. not worth it IMO. Do it right the first time.
