A bad ported box would make the subs sound very sloppy. Distorted.
Pretty much very unclear except for a small window of frequencys. Low bass will sound like s**t. Drums will be sloppy. and only a few higher frequency will sound decent

Well the problem was my box...I am almost certain. I took a piece of paper and stapled it over the port and used some spray adhesive to get a lil better seal. Held my arm on top of the slot to make sure it sealed alright. When I pushed on one sub, the other protruded. Played the subs, no rattle, pop, distortion...

Tomorrow: Building a sealed box :D

Thanks for all the help everyone...will update after I give my new box a try

EDIT: I want to give a special thanks to Charles_00Civic...Our ClubCivic Idiot :D He helped me discover it was indeed the box. And Snoop, appreciate it.

make sure you use good wood. 3/4 mdf/hdf. use screws and blocking where you can. use a good sealant and put it between the boards before you screw them together and then after. predrill the screw holes. when i build wood boxes, i nail gun em together first, then come back and predrill every screw. put a screw like every 2-3 in.

with an amp that big you have to remember, you may have a good ground to chassis but your actual return path is still shitty 10 gauge wire on the battery. Replace the stock ground with 4 gauge. That amp also pushed the limits of your alternator about a year ago. Even if it is capped your alternator is way to small to push it. Continually to cause long term problems with your equipment. And the wire from the alternator to the battery is too small to supply the amperage for that amp.

I do agree on dump the pioneer deck though. Shitty made decks in my opinion. Always having issues with the rcas. Crap that deck out and go with another line. Preferably alpine :D
I also agree. I had a pioneer (floor model), it gave bad road noise and my sub popped also. I sold to a friend and it did the same thing. Pioneer Premier doesn't suck. My opinon is that Pioneer Premier is one of the best for the control over all of your system. I have had 4 pionee decks they were all good except for that one. Definatley get a new deck cause the rca output is bad.

I might've just misunderstood you but if you are saying the premier is better and that I should've went with that instead of a cheaper pioneer...the 8mp is a premier..

might just be a misunderstanding and thanks for the info :D
