Sucks that I can't tell if they pushed on the cone lol. I haven't chosen the memphis for sure so your thoughts on an AB amp are very welcome.
if you are going to run a sub that takes that much power, you are going to want a class D amplifier. I was referring to smaller AB amplifiers and more power efficient woofers. I am not a basshead ;)

I wouldnt sweat buying one off of ebay, but if you can wait a few days i will see what my friend knows

the first auction did, it is a dual 2 ohm. I would be more inclined to buy from him anyway

I can wait. I would rather wait until I find a buyer for my Audiobahns so that I know I will have some spare cash. Right now, I need money for some rims and insurance anyways. Plus I'm getting a good security system and audio insurance... I got my s**t ganked once already.

Actually I think I'm might abndon the alternator upgrade. I don't really wanna spend that extra money. How bad will a Memphis 16-MCD1000 kill my battery and alternator???

I dont think these guys are audiophiles snoop ;) I love zapco stuff, but goddamn its pricey.. I wouldnt mind doing an alt upgrade on my hatch, but civic HO alts are expensive as hell. I think dom irragi quoted me somewhere near 500.00 for one. If i were going to keep the car for awhile, I probably would, but oh well.

and if you are considering a yellow top, you might also want to look at Kinetik batteries.....

upgrade all of your grounds (big 3) and get an upgraded battery, Optima, Kinetik, SVR, Stinger, doesnt matter. the point of having a large amplifier is having the available power to support it, so I would go with a slightly smaller amplifier. why don't you throw us out a budget for an amplifier, and we will be able to help you more. what size wiring are you planning on doing?
