My 96 ex automatic needed to be free of its slowness so a b16 from japan did the trick. I wanted to take pictures during the swap just cuz i think documenting stuff is fun. So here we go.

Much better. I am told the dual exhaust and oe cat from the lesser engine could have cost me a good 10hp there but ill find that out when i get my hi-flo cat welded on, i already dropped that exhaust in favor of a magnaflow cat-back (which is just excellent). After V-AFC tuning and the proper exhaust i should be at around 160 whp. Now i just need edelbrocks new turbo and i will be happy.

Holy Cow.... quite the conversion you did man... My question is, you have that nos kit...why not just throw that on their instead of spending the money on a turbo.... but the swap looks clean and i bet you that was some mad shop time that was put in to do that conversion... :yummy:

the labor was 1200, which is up there but i wouldnt have it any other way. this was the car my parents bought me 3 years ago and they wouldnt let me get any higher than four cylinders and had to be automatic and cheap and so that sounded like a civic to me. nitrous (i) fried the last motor and i wouldnt put it on this engine till i get a kit worht putting on there. I tried getting rid of most the ricey blue and euros but the seats unless i got them re-apholstered are gona have to stay that way. it woulda been cheaper to sell my car and buy an si but i dont want to ever get rid of my first car

Where'd you get it done? Were you happy with the service?

Edit: And where is your old engine?? I'm in Atlanta.

Some of us cannot afford an Si, or cannot find and Si. Believe me I would love to have one, but I dont think my dad would have agreed to buy me that as my first car. (And dont call me spoiled, I have to pay for everything else, my dad just understands how important a car is!)

well the engine isnt really fried but i ran a dry 75 shot a few times and decided i would stop before i have problems. i ogt the swap done at Alan Cox Automotive on Hwy 41 in Kennessaw and they are the best honda shop i know of they only service honda/acura vehicles and theyve been there for 20 yrs. my old engine still sits in their shop until i can find something to do with it. BTW the swap did come with the factory jap LSD its amazing. im never letting anyone else touch my car other than this shop, my 3rd gear synchro went bad in the first two weeks and they replaced it and everything for free. pay once and they warranty everthing.

the shop is close to exit 68 on I-75 if anyone wants the engine, im gona have it compression checked and approved. i think for $500 i would let it go with the ractive header.

your dyno shows you have 144whp.. i dont think you can get 160whp with a vaft and exhaust..you would probably get 1-4whp..without no mods to the engines..

cause it is a 144whp not crank hp I dont know if you looked close enough but that is what he is talking about that is about right. A SOHC would only have about 100whp so I think the bseries is worth it I got one and wouldnt trade it for a SOHC anyday.
