i cant believe u got the tranny swap done for so cheap....my homie did his integra and they charged him at the shop 1500 altogether with parts and labor, but he supplied the tranny himself....the only problem was the shifter was too long so it hit the cat convertor...but its cool now....took around 2 weeks for them to finish....

I knew a couple of people who did it. average price is about $400-$600 if you buy all the parts and do the work yourself. As for a shop they charge about $1500 and they supply everything or you can give them everything and the charge about $500 bucks for the labor give or take. From the people that did they said it wasnt too hard. Go ahead and give it a shot, just do alot of research. Goog luck:D

yep, much cheaper

btw - back when i had a mercury cougar 2000, my local cougar car club did a atx - mtx swap, took the tranny from a svt focus. It definatly wasn't fun. Alot of money, time, etc... Just buy the car in manual.

Why are you switching trannies??? The auto is way faster than the stick on drag races. It shifts at perfect redline. Also, auto has three choosable gears. 2,3D,4D. You can down shift to second or third just like in a manual. But sticks are funner to drive, but not worth the money to swap.

Not really.... As i have experianced auto and manuals... i think manuals are a couple of seconds faster on the 1/4 mile and on auto crossing because u can switch when ever u want to. autos carrry auto fluids which is heavier. when i compared my trannie to his mine was twice his size, which means more weight. one think i like about manual is u can sit on the clutch for however long u want to and then engage for a strong pull around corners... well i still think i am going to swap anyways...
