i'd go for the 50/50 lights as everyone else suggested. i had mine tinted pure black, then re-did it to slightly black, and just removed it all together and i'm looking for the 99-00 lights

bumping this thread up, but I own a 97 EX for my DD.

The wifey has the 99 and she won't switch since she doens't like the amber either. LOL

So, are the fitment on the ebay tails good or are they "off" (lining up, etc.). I wanna hear real life stories before I spend the $70

Like the tails in this ebay listing:

Appreciate it as I'd rather buy a set from Sherman or Stanley for $160 and put the $70 towards that. As opposed to going cheap and getting $70 set and having water leaks/damage

=) Definitely.

PS - you have one nice clean ride!

My 97 Civic I just picked up for 2800 with 97 on the ODO is about the same damn way (down to the factory tape deck down below). lol Just replaced headlamp assembly due to fogging and painted wipers arms, just need to sand and respray hubcaps and she's golden - making a trip to paintless dent repair as there are a couple of dings I'd like removed. I'm still hunting for that OEM sunroof visor. That thing is hard to come by though!

I had the Honda itch too. So far I've used a 1/3rd of tank of gas and hit 185 miles. Gas sippers FTW. I have my power car for when I need it. ;)

Who is Sherman?

Oh, and I have a '98 coupe and replaced the lights with the '99-'00 coupe taillights. I ran around like that for awhile (even had them stolen when the entire car was stolen) until I put my lip kit on and realized how ridiculous those taillights looked with that beefy lip. So I took them off and picked up some inexpensive '96-'98 taillights. Looks loads better.

I can't even remember why I liked the '99-'00 taillights to begin with. They don't even go with my headlights.

i got my 99-00 tails on ebay. the fitting is definitely a little bit off, but its barely noticeable. ive had them for 4 months and they havent fogged up, leaked, or any of that. i didnt even know those had problems, but i have yet to have a problem with them.

Stick with the 98 tails, thats what i have on my 96'. Its to common to have the 99-00 tails just like the 99-00 front end, everyone has it now. im running all stock 96. chea

If you gonna have it tinted, tint the whole thing. other than that get the 99/00 tailights. Ive been searching for oem on craigs list but i could never find them! As soon as it gets posted, they are already gone. the 99/00 tailghts from ebay are fake, they are OEM style. I could straight out tell the difference.

Plus throwing on 99-00 taillights just doesn't seem right with the 96-97 ex hubcaps.

Continuity!

am after some 99-00 50/50's for mine. they look much fresher speshly if you got the clear side repeaters and chrome bulbs to match.

99-00 FTW!!!
