I may be from PA but I visit TX a lot now that I have family there and I would say Helotes a small town outside of San Antonio is really nice. Thats where my family lives. Judging by your interests that area seems to fill your needs

i believe he is looking in the DFW area. i know in the town i live in its pretty nice. Melissa, TX about 45 minutes north of dallas. its a nice town with some nice houses. there are a few new neighborhoods going up right now. if you want anymore information you can PM me. and the drive is not too bad. my dad drives to Dallas Love Field every day and he actually likes it because he gets alot of thinking in while hes going to work. but just pm me for anymore information.

i think southlake is close to grapevine...irving isn't that nice from what i've heard. i live in arlington, about 20 min from grapevine...i've been here in texas for almost 3 yrs now. we used to live in san diego. since i live in arlington, i only know my area better...arlington, cedar hill, mansfield, and grand prairie are a few of the nice places to live in the area. they're all about 20 min. from grapevine.

Trophy Club. Really nice area. A little pricey, but since you're coming from Cali, I don't imagine it being too bad. About ten minutes to Southlake. 15-20 to Grapevine.

Grapevine is a nice area. You have the lake, down the street from a real big mall. I would say Grapevine would be the best place. Its quiet, lots of stores everywhere, people are friendly, nice houses, lake, mall, good schools, etc.

I agree with everyone about Grapevine. Southlake is a great area as well. Theres lots of stores, a big ass mall and lake right near. South Arlington near Mansfield is a great area as well. 8)

If you are going to be working in Grapevine I'd suggest you stay North. I worked in Irving near the north entrance of DFW airport and from South Arlington (Cooper/Sublett),360 is a b***h. Not too far north like Lewisville or Denton though because 121 is a b***h too.

Valley Ranch, Grapevine, Colleyville...there are some nice places in HEB too. (Hurst Euless Bedford) My friend has a house in Bedford in a pretty nice neighborhood. Of course that means you have to be on 183 and 183 is a freaking parking lot at rush hour.

Things I won't do: Drive on I-635 during rush hour. Drive on I-35 north of 183 during rush hour. Either one of the I-35s. I-35E or I-35W...they both suck. North Ft Worth has some nice neighborhoods near Alliance Airport but they were not considered when we bought a new home because you have to drive I-35W.

:welcome: to Dallas, Ft Worth, Arlington.

So you're basically saying "stay away from all freeways" Yea man I think i hate 360 more than 635. That is why i didn't suggest living in Arlington :x

Yeah, I hate 360.... I don't even wanna think about how effed up that's going to be when the Cowboys play when they move to Arlington. Oh, and what if they play an early season home game at the same time the Rangers are playing?

If money's tight, Grand Prairie is okay... You can get to Grapevine pretty easily on Roy Orr/Valley View. I know some people that stay in GP and it's alright. Not nice, but not too bad.

thats what i goin to say that when the new stadium is done, more traffic will be created and then 30 & 360 will be a parking lot instead of highways

About that law, I'm not sure.

Low Crime in Grapevine, yes. You hardly hear anything bad coming from Grapevine.

oh and i forgot...since you're married and you're moving FROM cali...you're wifey's gonna be a lil bit bored for a while so you might wanna consider that if you're gonna live in grapevine coz they got a pretty good size mall there and she might end up burning a very deep hole in your pocket from all the shopping she's gonna do to get rid of her boredom...;)
