It's probably going to overheat during the summer.. Do watercooling, it'll keep it cool during the summer.

everyone is thinking this is running as hot as a regular computer.....it doesn't even come close to getting hot and yes i know the inside of a trunk gets hot but its not gonna overheat......

the screen is a 7" touchscreen made by lilliput....its the new 06 model that is made to fit into a double din spot....got it on ebay

Lilliput is good stuff. I was thinking of doing a carputer setup one day with a 7" Xenarc motorized screen... but i realised I have no where close enough funds for it.

Yea.. because we know nothing about computers.

It'll overheat, believe me.. A blanket over it does NOTHING.

been doing this kinda stuff my whole life and it won't ;) end of story

also just so you know i have no back seat so thus the air conditioning from inside the car will also to straight to the trunk thus cooling the carputer :P

so in all actuallity we were both right

just playin with ya man

I've been doing this s**t since I've been 12.. Unless you take the components out when you leave the car, it'll get hot. Also, unless your A/C works as SOON as you turn your car on and it cools to 80degree's within seconds, you'll be having over-heating problems. PERIOD.

dude u not think hes gone over all this before he started? i know what your saying but its not going to be issue overheating.

Im very impressed with work gone into this, me and my bud had plans for this about 5 or 6 months ago just needed the funding but thanks for the ref pics an info, it'll be a great help.

Really lookin forward to more pictures of this in action. Great Work!

i was never big into the carputer idea. Although, i am totally loving the screen you got in there. very nice looks sick. cant wait to see it up and running..!

good job on the fabrication!!!

there are manufacturers out there that actually make a barebone kits for car pc's, they use micro-itx mobos and have a special power supply that uses DC straight from your battery, and hookups for using car's cd player to change tracks etc. check out http://indashpc.org/new/ fpr some stuff related to car pc's
