Shane does have the correct mind set, but he doesnt have a good way of showing it. Either that or people wont listen so he has to do it the hard way. LOL @ hershel thinking that a magical medicine will come and heal the walkers!
I think he will kick them out and now well get a lot of good action, it is his property and he can do what he wants to them.

So in a nutshell, the 2nd season is about living on a farm and searching for a lost little girl... 98% drama, 2% zombies
Season 1 > Season 2


but i'm still hooked, so yeah i'll be waiting for S2 to pick back up
