Couple of things ive ran across lately & im wondering if itll be worth my time or not..esp. for someone under boost

1) http://www.turbod16.com/viewtopic.php?t=5533 <-- I know this is the ghetto way, but even if I were to do it the "real" way with the nitrous ring, is this really worth it or nah?

2) Throttle body - I know the b-series TB are interchangable with d-series, so is it worth it to get a throttle body off a b16 or b18, or get a skunk2 throttle body? or dont waste your time with the part? Obviously would have an upgraded manifold with this.

YES! Water/alchol injection is awesome, it ups your octane and prevents combustion.

EDIT: I just remembered I have a kit, I plan on using so... no deals, lol.

I never knew b-series intake mani's were interchangible with d-series.

i think hes talkin about somthing that sprays water over the intercooler because its colder than air...... and what that does is make the intake air more dense. which makes for more oxygen....and then creates a better air/fuel mixture for combustion.

and raising your octane levels doesnt prevent combustion, it prevents detonation ;)

exactly. I mean ive never seen it used in real life, only in mags in stuff, so was just wondering if its legit and actually helps out significantly or just a waste?

Some people on homemadeturbo.com swear by it. Personally I would just get the NX kit.

but i mean, is the NX kit even worth it? Im not so worried about doing it ghetto or NX, cause if it was legit Id prob just go NX, but I just hate to spend the money and find out its s**t later on...

its proven to add up to 50 hp on some applications. I know a guy with a turbo scion tC with the NX kit and got 35hp out of it.

back to the manifold... i don't think the B and D series manifolds are interchangable b/c D series is SOHC and B series is DOHC... correct me if i'm wrong

The bigger TB would be nice, but i am sure a bigger TB will be bigger then the Mani's opening. so it might not be worth it...

I know the manifolds themselves are not interchangable, but I think the throttle bodies are, as its not the side that bolts to the manifold that changes, but the part that connects to the intake / charge piping which differs in size.

Well, it would be assuming that the manifold would be upgraded as well..but I actually just thought about this realistically, unless the skunk2 manifold has a greater opening for the TB (which would have to match or be bigger than my b-series throttle body) theres really no other way of doing it, minus boring out the manifold.

All TB H,B, and D are interchangable.

The TB will just increase throttle resonnce the waters sprayer is cool if you dont have an intercooler and even if you do its still nice, I think the STI comes with a water sprayer stock that spray the IC

yeah, i definetly think that throttle body would be nice, but the hard part would be matching a manifold to, without boring the d-series one.

anyone confirm the water sprayers came stock on STI? ive never heard of that.. dont they have top mount intercoolers?

The H23 is the biggest honda TB but you will have to port the hell out of the stock one.

hmm, so the only way of getting the manifold to match the bigger throttle body is to bore it?

yeah sti's have a little tank in the trunk to put water in.and yeah, tmic are stock on sti's.

all d,b,h tb's are interchangable.....however just adding a bigger tb alone isnt going to do much unless you start porting your IM and stuff like that to make your head more aggressive.

damn nice.. ill definetly look into doing that.

Oh and as far as throttle body/manifold. On skunk2s website, the smallest "racing" throttle body they sell is 60mm (same as B16), so youd think they wouldnt make the throttle body bigger than theyre manifold right? In this case I could get the throttle body of a B16 and the skunk2 manifold...anyone confirm this idea?
