Forced Induction Idea!

OK guys what do you think of this idea! My dad has a leaf blower. is there a way I could force the air into my intake to get an artificial turbo. I really like this idea help me build off of this!
It is electric so we could hook it up to the ignition coil right?

haha no. a leaf blower isnt strong enough to compress the air into your intake manifold.

why what? turbos are way more powerful than a leaf blower. a leaf blower isnt going to compress the air as much as its needs to. in fact it probably wont compress the air at all. leaf blowers arent that much stronger than the air you blow out of your mouth. turbos, on the other hand, are so powerful that the unit to measure how much air is being compressed is psi (POUNDS per square inch). thats why.

Wow! That's ingenuity at it's finest. Don't think it'll work, but it's an excellent thought. If you decide to test this, tell us your results.

I've seen electric supercharger kits, but they cost the same as a real Jackson Racing supercharger and they only work for 15 seconds at a time. They probably have a MUCH stronger motor than your leaf blower, though. But then again I don't know anything about leaf blowers.

Test it before you sell the idea. I really think Shiznit is right. If you just do it to your own car you can't get sued, but if you start making promises to people and your idea doesn't work, they'll get angry.

dont bother trying it dude. its not going to work, and you may end up seriously f**king something up in your engine. theres so much to forced induction than just a turbo. dont say i didnt warn you.

Ok guys. I see what you are saying and yeah I will try the idea first then I will let you guys know. You guys are not giving the leaf blower enough credit It is the craftsman 6 horse power one the top of the line leaf blower. we have a lot of leaves to blow. I think It has more than enough power!!
But I will try it and Get back to you guys on it!

6 hp? Now I KNOW Shiznit was right. That's not going to help you at all. What about RPM and PSI? I honestly thought you put more thought into this idea at first (and I didn't know a leaf blower was that weak)

man, I'm sorry I know you're new to cars and everything but this will not work... think of trying to get a leafblower to fit in your engine bay and a 6 hop one at that, they aren't very small. Plus like shiznit said you would need a hell of a lot more air than what your leafblower would push out

omg....it will never work, turbochargers push in 6-8 psi, and the turbine travels up to like 150,000 rpm or sumthin....you will never get this to wrk, dont ruin yur leaf blower man
