The exhuast note was one of the things that sold me on the Z. Also looked at the 6.0l GTO but didn't like it at all. Much happier with the Z and proud to be a Z owner.
I think people probably arent reading the whole thread and are just chiming in with "shouldnt have sold teh evo".Svr_Civic said:why should he have kept the evo ? warrenty wasnt goin to keep payin for the breakdowns it was havin...

Sad to see the evo go, but Z's are fun cars! Buddy has a silver 03 track...yea we run'em
Didn't know listing stuff that broke was a "mod?" LOLEG_CaSe said:yep i didnt read the whole thing i just thought it was a list of mods..
SiGSR said:Nice trade. EVO looks so much like a 4-door tuner car, instead of more focused sports car.
Oh yeah, and the exhaust note on the Z is awesome.

Got rid of it cause it kept breaking and having too many problems
That was his mod list. You have to read further into the thread. You missed his real problems with the Evo and Mitsubishi:EG_CaSe said:so all of this was giving you problems? lucky you
VTECSOHC02 said:I loved my Evo... I honestly didn't want to get rid of it. But it kept breaking and Mitsu wouldn't cover anything under warranty and it was becoming a bigger cost than what I wanted.
VTECSOHC02 said:Stock Advans were replaced at 10k miles, I replace the hvac at 13k miles, the clutch at 20k miles, the front diff at 30k, the power sterring pump and starter at 33k miles. Think the transmisson was going out as well as the rear diff.
And some other comments about Evo problems that people on here have heard of or seen...VTECSOHC02 said:I replaced my front brake pads @ 25k and rear at 30k.
mr_ducksauce said:yeah...for some reason the evo have trouble with the clutches. My friend had one replaced at 9k, front brakes at around 12k and rear brakes at around 14k...i guess things wear fast on that thing.
dramysx said:the clutches were base model Lancer clutches, thats why....a friend of mine had that same problem, twice.
gearbox said:the nissan is just a better car. i hear evos breaking all the time even from people who baby it. And yea if you read the warranty fine print, I don't think you would've even bought the car in the first place.
SiRcivic27 said:Nice grab, I'm suprised you got 30K out of your clutch, my buddy blew his up at 4K miles and dropped in an Exedy twin plate...
This kid around town has an Evo X and the clutch was replaced at 10k miles, so yeah, they def. have a problem.mr_ducksauce said:yeah...for some reason the evo have trouble with the clutches.
