I'm planning on running 7psi at the track with my d15 (whenever I can get f**king money together) on stock internals.....so I would say yes. But other opinions would be helpfull.

proper fuel managment and a good tune (and of course all the right parts)

read through some of the threads & stickies in this section, ppl ask that same question all the time.

yes there are ppl out there that have had great success with b-series block handle up to 300whp on stock internals. Make sure you get it tuned properly with Hondata, Uberdata, etc. I'm in the process of piecing together my turbo kit for my B16A. Also like they mentioned above ringlands are weak but you shouldn't have a problem. Do a compression test on it and change your timing belt/ water pump if it's time. Hope this helps.

do you think on an ls/vtec turbo setup if would be wise to push it to 450whp on stock sleeves?

I just had my timing belt/water pump changed when i got the motor. But I talked to the guys that helped me do my swap and they said it wont last very long at all with stock internals. All they keep saying is "go all motor" But Id also have to spend like 5 to 8 grand for the right setup. If i go turbo it will be a lot cheaper cause i ran into a turbonetics setup with everything except boost controller and fuel pump for $1250.

Everyone is going to tell you something different, so you gotta figure out what you want to do first. Tuning is the key as long as you do your stuff right you shouldn't have a problem. Read up on different sites and ask ppl that have done turbo b16 and see what they tell you.

tuning is the key, dont let people discourage you anythign under 10 psi with correct tuning should be fine on a stock motor.

B16's don't make the best candidate for boost because of their high compression ratio, but that certianly shouldn't stop you if you already have one. With proper tuning 9-10psi is safe.

If you're considering an engine, look into the d16y8 and d16z6 they can handle a surprising amount of boost and are dirt cheap. Also look into the b18b ls engine, it is considered the best engine swap for boost b/c of low comp and strong internals.

The only difference I see is that a motor with lower compression you can run higher boost level. But Dr. Anus are you trying to say that out of all 4 motors you mentioned that with proper tuning and running the same amount of boost the LS will perform and be faster then a B16. I don't see how that can be someone explain.

No, under the same boost an ls motor will be torqier but have less horsepower. The advantage with an ls is that it can take a significant amount more boost safer than a B16 can. It's also easier to tune because of the lower compression. Stock ls motors can safley run 300hp wheras a b16 would only run about 250hp safley on stock internals with a lot less torque.

i dunno if u live in denial but a stock ls will never get to 300whp
ive seen many stock b16s with sc61s make 300whp all day long
