Just like a Honda you can get a roaches out pile or a good car that isn't much to maintain. All depends on how it was taken care of or lack there of. My Mk4 needs nothing but the crack pipe replaced and even then it is because I know they are known to fail so I have everything just in case. Timing chains don't commonly fail on these so there is no worry there.

If I had to do it all over again I would pick my VW over my old civic any day of the week.

My issue with VW has always been price tag associated with parts. Replacement (OEM) stuff is insane.. my buddy's MKIV Jetta cost an arm and a leg when we rebuilt his tranny. He sold it immediately after because he was so disgusted with it.

Yes they're easy to find, but not with a body as clean as what you have now. I support you selling it, but if you ever jump back into Hondas I have a feeling you'll be disappointed.

To be honest, I don't think I'll go back.... I'll miss the good ol' days. But I think I will move on.

My next build would be a Volkswagen CC, VR6 AWD. Bags and wheels. And turboed would be badass.

I just can believe I am considering going VW! But those CCs are GORGEOUS. And not a horrendous price either.

Dude, please post up a detailed post showing the process. Auto to manual swaps have always interested me. I almost did one with an old eg coupe I had. I loved everything about that car but the auto tranny.

I am doing that. I've been going to the gym since I moved in. I'm trying to get into a routine because I want to try lowering my blood pressure so I can get off my medicine and as well as slim down a little. My roommates are pretty cool and we've been going as a group so it's much more fun.
