But mist people arnt vw mechanics. People that don't know about all the maintenance etc...end up neglecting their euro cars. Which is why the civic comes in handy for those people.

Complains anout not being able to afford modding a civic but thinks about a brand new car to mod

Yeah I was but I could still do it now. I just don't want to. I want to move on, I don't feel the same way about it (maybe my motor blowing up twice makes me not so motivated
)I want a nice car. I drive Model S's all day and it puts it into perspective. I could afford having a nice, reliable, faster car with just doing some simple mods. I'm going to miss my Civic like crazy, but I am kind of wanting to try something new. I had a lot of good times with the Civic but no one I'm friends with really builds Hondas anymore. Call me what you want, but I need a change.

I'm not a VW mechanic either. If you drive a vehicle, you have to keep it maintained properly if you want it to stay on the road. It's common sense. A German vehicle doesn't need any extra special attention or anything, you just have to keep up on maintenance and if something is going wrong, you fix it. Pretty straight forward. I didn't word it correctly earlier. A honda will take neglect a bit better but it isn't bullet proof. You still have to maintain them. Take that dude on here that has the purple piece of s**t that has been through 2 engines in less than 6 months. Look at Alex's. Hasn't it gone through 2 engines lately as well? Doesn't matter if it is German, Domestic, Japanese, Italian, etc s**t happens.
Civic's seem to come in handy for people that don't know any better. Like Tig said, VW's aren't much more expensive to maintain if you really look at it. Hey, I was scared at first too. When I got into my Jetta I was worried sick that it was going to break me on maintenance bills. Looking at parts that I will need in the future they aren't going to be more that what I spent on my civic. Some parts pound for pound are less money. Some are more. It's the industry. There is a lot of stuff that is aftermarket that is hp to money ratio a LOT less considering that my D-series was pointless to upgrade because it doesn't do s**t. My VR6 responded incredibly well to simple bolt ons and will actually benefit performance wise with an ECU tune. Civic is a waste of money in that department.
True. From what I understand VWs come to the US severly de-tuned. Hence why a "chip" or "tune" benefits a VW way more than a Honda. I didn't realize this until recently. Except they have their ways of dismissing your warranty if you do so :/
I never thought I would go VW, but I may be. There's something about the CC that I love. And I just want a new car. A new NEW car.

Have a motor ordered. Waiting for it to arrive at the shop with a new clutch. 51k miles, 3 yr parts and labor warranty. Cost me out the ass but the miles and warranty were worth it.
Helping mother in law move uhhh. Getting more ink tonight though
