That's currently what I do. I started two weeks after graduating college and will be here for two years next month. I love it. Not much room to grow within this company, but it's perfect so I can stay 3 years or so and apply for jobs looking for more experience. I'm thinking Lockheed Martin or General Dynamics. I had my foot in the door at GD for a systems engineering co-op, so I think that's a possibility. LHM I applied for years ago and got a second interview -- enough for them to fly me down to DC, but in the end they wanted someone with a couple years experience. I was still in college at that time.
I'm currently a Systems Admin for a smaller company (bordering on medium). I've been here two years now, but there is zero room for growth, so I need to go. I actually had a contract position I could have taken for NASA/Lockheed Martin, but it was only 6 months with zero chance of permanent hire, so I passed on it in lieu of this position. Would have looked awesome on my resume! haha

Thought you were done with her?
Yeah so did I. She contacted me again, taking things very slow, but feelings are surely there. Neither of us can help it. This is just throwing a massive wrench in the gears. Not sure what to think right now. She's gung-ho about re-enlisting.

Sounds like more trouble than it is worth

Picked this up for $2k. Had some over heating issues but ran fine so I figured if it was toast I could part it out. But i discovered the water pump was broken and bought a new one for $80. Previous owner thought the motor was done and didn't want to pay a shop to fix it. It's an 03 r6 with unknown miles and a salvage title but it should make for a fun toy. Had it out most the day and seems to be problem free so far. Doing a search for similar bikes in so cal (salvage) I think I could probably sell it for 3500-4k so I think I did alright.

What exactly do you do? I work for Virgin galactic which is an engineer mad house. They're everywhere! I feel like I'm damn near tripping over engineers trying to get work done on the spaceship. If you're looking for a job with advancement, this is it! I could point you in the right direction if you're interested.

I just did a quick look for IT positions and didn't see anything. They're usually quick to post current needs and take others down that get filled. I'll keep an eye out for you though. Doesn't hurt to have options!

The bike is a Yamaha. But I get the name mixed up I meant fz6r. Thanks for pointing that out. I've been looking at parts that are interchangeable and some from the zx6r are compatible. Think that's where I got it from

This forum moves too fast, Everytime I get on there's so many more pages I never really read much... Lol. But ordered some Science of Speed LMA's for the teg's motor, Got the cylinder head ready to ship out. Once the LMA's come in i'm packaging those with the head and sending it to 4 piston racing. Going to get the cylinder head done with ferrea bronze valve guides, ferrea seals, ferrea seats, etc, the whole package. Already have the valvetrain for it. Ready to get the cylinder head out the way. Lol

Yeah VG's IT positions fill fast! I was trying to get in for a while, but couldn't do it. If you catch a lead, I'm already out here and down! haha

Yeah, I have to check up on this thread daily, or I'll fall way behind.

Talked with girl some more (I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing about it, so I'll be quick), all may be fine. She does want to re-enlist, but I doubt she'll get deployed. That would be fine with me.
