Hanging around the house with the missus. Two nights off, then two more nights of work and we're switching back to day shift!

We got some snow. Had some parking lot fun last night after the gym. Work now, but super excited for this evening.. I'm trying my hand at my very first brew! Picked up a solid kit which came with ingredients to make Amber Ale, so I might as well give that a go first.

... And this weekend I'm meeting up with a guy who has a case of Heady Topper. He wants $8 a can and I'm going to throw my money at him once I see him. I've been dying to try this beer forever.

Pulling my god damn hair because people dont have the minimum required skills to work behind thier computers. Then when you give them step by step instructions on how to fix the problem they go about it their own way and complain that s**t isnt working.

FOLLOW THE f**king DIRECTIONS!

We need to stop hiring these morons. I sent a online testing site for new employees to our HR director who is ecstatic with it. She completely agrees with me. I waste so much time with people giving them basic instructions on functions that dont require any mental capacity.

Super huge snow storm supposed to hit us this weekend. They're e pecting like 1-2 feet. For only seeing about a dusting this year so far, I'm not looking forward to it. Gotta get the snow blower out of the garage.

Just finished getting my invoices together for work. Spent about $250,000 last year for new IT equipment. I love spend other people's money.

I 10000% feel your pain. I've done a lot of help desk the last couple years, some people just need to stay away from computers. Last year I had to call Dell to service a laptop here, because the user spilled oil on the back cover of the LCD screen (he works as a service tech out in oilfields so it's not too uncommon). Rather than wiping the oil off, he power washed it.......

Well for me I'm not help desk, but I am responsible for the companies user needs. I am the IT admin for a medical practice with 120+ employees, 98% are women to boot. We have 17 offices all over two different states, so I'm pretty busy.

Your corporate world stories remind me how much Im glad to be out of that culture. Its just about 8 years to the day, actually. The medical field certainly has its crap but at lest I enjoy what I do. That is when Im working, of which Im not right now. That should change soon.

I'm actually a sys admin but the 4 of us in the US-IT dept. all share help desk duties, including my manager. I probably do the most though, since I'm at the bottom of the totem pole (two guys here for 13 years, my boss for 5, me about 3.5 straight out of college). We deal with 16 offices throughout N/S America though, which is awesome because I get to travel. Our HQ is in England, where their IT team supports the rest of the world (we have offices in 113 countries I think??).. Dyson worked in one of our offices before he went off and formed Dyson haha

I'm actually really pushing to visit our Venezuela office this year -- they don't even have a server in their office because their network is too slow and apparently fast internet there is very, very expensive to upgrade. I doubt it will happen. :what:

Are you serious?!? Did he think it was waterproof?
He's not the brightest bulb in the ceiling lol

I enjoy what I do, though I've about hit my cap where I am. Not much room for growth, and, the company is largely based on oil and gas, so with those prices going down, the company suffers as well. We still had a strong 2015 but no annual bonus (15%!!) which for the first time in 12 years or some s**t isn't going to happen. So I believe it's about time for me to step it up too!

I have a degree in IT forensics/security, so I'd love to be able to actually do something related to that.

@XpL0d3r have you looked into applying for Oracle? They are always hiring and they are all over the world. I am planning to apply to their Shanghai division as soon as my mandarin is fluent enough.

I have not, but I haven't really started looking just yet. I had an interview with Symantec in DC, which went well, but they said I'd be a better fit for a job in Seattle. I've been to Seattle before, and it was nice, but I don't want to move that far west just yet.

And that's awesome. Are you from Florida and learning Mandarin for your career?

Side note, just dropped $400 on my first ever stock (other than my employer). It's currently at $.02, so I have a good bit of it. They're starting to get into the marijuana business, so I'm (literally) banking on that.

I thought about applying for a position at Honda in OH a while back but didn't really want to live there. I believe sk8shrty08 or something like that (black EM1 with lots of OEM+ goodies from CC) moved from SoCal to OH a little while back...

*edit

To work for Honda lol

Damn, that's a clean D16

But that CRX. I could have totally used those red plastic fenders a few years ago, and the wheels
