Yep. I get to sit during my lunch/dinner break obviously but when you're standing for that long, you might as well not even sit lol. The bottom of my foot, in the middle, hurts like hell some parts of the day.^^ I feel ya on the foot pain. The ball of my right foot feels bruised. I'm on my feet anywhere from 8 to 12 hours a day just at work, since I work in a kitchen I need something slip resistant, closed toe, comfortable, and durable. BLEH.
Unfortunately that all doesn't come cheap. It is my understanding that you work in a kitchen as well, what kind of shoes do you wear? I've thought about buying the cheap "tredsafe" work shoes and using dr scholls inserts but idk.
at least you have some choice what to wear. i worked in a factory for 14 hours a day once and we had to wear steel boots and you spent the entire time standing up and looking down at parts on an assembly line in a room that was probably 95 degrees. i never noticed my feet hurting because my neck would hurt so bad from looking down for the entire day.Yep. I ordered shoes through work so I have no idea what they are. To be quite honest, I've never even bothered to look at them to see what they are lol. I just wear em and that's it. They were comfortable at first but wore down quickly from so much movement.
I was talking to a buddy during work and he said there's a local store that sells shoes specifically for our type of environment but he said they're like $120. I don't know if I want to invest that kind of money. I'd rather just keep replacing the insoles lol. Shoes can only last so long anyways...
Factory work sucks. I did it for a summer in between college semesters... f**k that. I can't imagine doing that for a living. My mom worked there for like 14 years. I don't know how she survived that...at least you have some choice what to wear. i worked in a factory for 14 hours a day once and we had to wear steel boots and you spent the entire time standing up and looking down at parts on an assembly line in a room that was probably 95 degrees. i never noticed my feet hurting because my neck would hurt so bad from looking down for the entire day.
anyways today I finally wrapped up the last of my bills for my accident and got done with that. not i just have to figure out what to do for transportation since a chunk of what i got from the car insurance went to paying my medical bills. my health insurance doesnt cover the costs of ER visits so you can imagine how much that was. i'll give u a hint it was close to 700$ just to be admitted into the ER with no tests.
also it is really hard to sell a mr2 in this weather that needs a little maintenance work. who would have figured
I haven't taken a break in months. Lol we're not required to and most of the time there's no chance to. But when your foot hurts does it feel like it's stretching the muscle out? Like a pulling too tight feeling? I had that for a while until I discovered I had high arches. So now I have shoes with arch support.Yep.
