Import legions: as with most engine builders, we need your core to work on. its best that way too since you know its your own block that you are getting built.

I've seen many setups with 250hp, from all motor to turbo sohc and dohc these past 12 years in the scene. and 250in a coupe will get you in the low 13's on slicks and full interior. its possible to get into the 12's with some weight reduction but in general its a 13 sec setup.

Well, not to be a butt head about it, but I don't really care about "useable" power. I just want it on tap at all times. I had a Hatch pull on my Trans Am, at 120 (5th Gear in T/A, 4.10 gears)

He said he was putting down just over 350, so I know I want more than that, for top end. I'll deal with getting it rolling. I want to be able to go to the track and say, "I got xxx hp" and when some tool says "Back it up" I will!

ExoSpeed, tell me what I'd need, as inclusive as you can be, to put down 450 hp at a liveable boost level (12-18 ). Also, do you guys sell blocks (I'm running a D16 right now, so I don't have anything to use for cores)

Thanks for all the help guys, I'm liking this site more and more!

we have d16 cores avaialble. as far as making over 350hp, you would need to beef up your block with a sleeved block, upgrade the head with a valvetrain kit. port and polish is not necesarry but if you have the funds, add it anyway. but the main upgrade on the head is the valvetrain to be able to take the RPMs a bit higher to boost a bit more. at that high rpm, the valvetrain is needed to prevent valve float.
For the turbo setup, get at least a t3/TO4E turbo with an equal length turbo manifold. 2.5" downpipe, a basic front mountintercooler will do fine. and big doesnt mean better on the intercooler. a good zie one to fill up the front grill will do. injectors.. i'd look into some 440cc RC injectors, and a nice edelbrock intake manifold. thats pretty much the parts i recommend, other parts are not so critical and you can piece the s setup with your basic cam gear, piping, etc.

haha want the respect. Do it for yourself, not for everyone else. Unless you have low self esteem and need to have a fast car to make up for your depression. LOL Just playin =)

I want to run a B-series engine, I just don't have one now.

Can you get me some ball-park figures for a B series Short Block (since I don't have a core) preferably B-18 (but I'd take a B16 for sure) already reinforced or sleeved (whichever is cheaper for what I'm needing) with a good bottom end and a head/valvetrain setup to go with it.

Also, if you guys sell Turbo Kits (I think I remember seeing them on your site) give me a price on something kinda different. I'd prefer not to run into somebody with the same Kit around here.

Thanks man,
Taco

go with a crower valve train, like cams, cam gears, retainers, springs and get your head ported and polished, maybe look into a bigger intake manifold too... i have a crower valve train on my d16 and i love the topend power, crower is my favorite and i dont think i would change it, thats just my $.02.

Also, while I'm thinkin about it, I want a turbo kit that's pretty gnarly. I like the Big, Tubular manifolds and loud BOV's and s**t like that. I want a mo-fo to know i'm not playing, that way, if he still tries me, he had plenty of warning!

Lemme know what up!

Loud BOV's will get annoying real quick, trust me...it may sound awesome at first, but give it an hour of driving or so

here's more pictures of one of the Setups we built. Its running our Stage 4 block and Stage 2 Head package.
Liek I said on a previosu post, t he setup is a Precision PT67 with a custom tubular manifold. Tial 44mm wastgate, Tial BOV.

we recently got the Twin Disc for it and the owner is saving up for some stage 5 Driveshaft shop axles. once we get the axles, we hope to be making over 700hp

This is a simple setup that can be duplicated easily. its so formula now to make this kind of HP.

OK, you got ball-park figures for a setup like that?

Remember, I don't have any cores!

Thanks again!

the setup above on the Civic is about $14,000-15,000 on the motor, engine and fuel system. That setup can make 600-700hp. There are more parts on the car that we added such as the Speed Pro ENgine Management that is not necesarry and the Full steel braided lines throughout the car. If you're a street car, theres other stuff that is not necesarry as well, such as the required scatter shield, and the fuel system can be just a basic intank pump.
