I would have to say no. 8s is about right. Unless we're talking like dragster stuff, then 3s is good. :P
i've been involved in drag racing my whole life. its in my blood. i would say that the low low 10 and into the 9's is fast for most cars. i mean a 9 second car is dog slow compaird to a T/F dragster, but not everything can be as fast as what you see on ESPN during the Fram Autolight Nationals.

My car is fast-er than what it was... but now that I've been driving on it for a while, it's starting to seem old... Now the fast factor has dropped down to being "quick" and I want to go faster...
invest in becoming a better driver rather then becoming a faster car.

anything under a minute is just too fast.
usually u want these things to last for awhile.
i'd venture a guess and say 30min is fair to both parties involved.

I'm already a better driver... I've done multiple road courses, plenty of drag time, and blah blah blah... I need the car to perform like how I want... Handling and speed.

True story. My pops used to drive the western swing of the NHRA winston drag series back in the day. Good times. Times have changed though for sure these days. I like cars that aren't street legal mostly, just because if you're trying to be able to drive it on the streets, and I know I at least speak for myself, having a fast car always brings the temptation to drive fast and other peoples lives aren't worth the risk imo. Hence, non street legal=perfectly fine with me.

i think two 15-minute runs can sometimes be substituted for a 30-minute run depending on the circumstance though. on rare occasions 3 10-minute runs can be allowed. this usually requires moderate quantities of race alcohol combined with some E booster. rarely can 3-10's be accomplished on pump gas

I beat a gutted hatch with a k20a (built head, full bolt ons, kpro tuned) from a dig by like 2 cars.... we were pretty much even from a roll....

I'll admit, anything under 2800lbs with a K motor is going to be a beast.

Even if he was talking about you there is no reason for you to say any of the things you just said.

That guy is just making that observation more or less.

If i have learned anything being on a forum (not just this one) it is that you shouldn't take what people say to heart, because honestly It just is not worth getting your panties all up in a bunch over some d-bag hiding behind a computer.

If you are gonna do a build don't talk about it show it when you got it.

As far as fast goes personally i don't think hp or torque has all that much to do with it. I mean obviously it does in some degree. If i had to put a number for a 3000 pound car to pack a punch i would say around 200 crank hp. so 175-185 to the wheels. Anything above that is just awesome.

That is why i love civics. A lot lighter than 3000 pounds and 150 wheel horse power in a stripped out civic can fly by people in their fatass cars.
