*** What do you consider "fast?"

Okay, so here it is... there's lots of folks out the with different preferences, SO, what do YOU think is fast? Let me narrow it down some:

- Roughly a 3,000 pound car (give or take a couple hundred)
- Horsepower & TORQUE (because torque is what makes you FEEL)
- 1/4 mile times
- Top speed?

Now with things more narrowed down, what do you consider "fast?"

With those criterias listed above... I consider this fast:

- Anything that makes over 450 WHP & 450 WTRQ
- Breaking 11's in the 1/4 mile
- Anything that can topple over 150mph with not too much hesitation (that means being in your last gear for 15 minutes just trying to hit 150mph)

This would be a Very fast car, especially rolling into it. A buddy of mine has a USDM Type-R that made 590whp @ 22psi. I'm telling you... for no torque at all, that car PULLS in 3rd ;P

I narrowed it down some... And I'm talking mainly straight line racing or speeding. There's too many variables to account for when you're talking about autox/roadracing.

Please take this thread more seriously... It'll help new comers with information regarding what accounts it would take to have a "fast" car. Not some stock '98 Civic EX, stock motor with i/h/e and one out of the ordinary mod such as an intake manifold, and having them consider their car "fast."

fast can be anything. I eat my food fast, i take a s**t fast. Fast is word for something that happens quick or quickly.

"oh, this class was went by so fast" in this case, class doesn't have 400whp or anything like that, but it's still fast.

if we're talking about fast in the world of motorsports just about ANYTHING can be considered fast.

100cc go karts are fast, right?

I tried to narrow it down in the first post... I seen this on another site and they didn't have NO gerneralization at all... I'm talking about straight line car fast. 1/4 mile times, horsepower/torque, top speed wise... It's not TOO broad, although there can be many other factors altering the definition of "fast."

Post #2 is a great example of what I'm talking about though; I thought people would catch on, but they're not -__-

I can see this thread getting out of hand...

I consider anything that goes 11.0 or faster in the 1/4 mile fast. There are plenty of exotic cars that you can buy if you're rich, that run high 11's, 12's and what not. So it's not like "pretty fast" isn't obtainable. Hell look at the Z06. $50,000 sports car that can beat exotics that are 100-200+ grand.

Come to think of it, my friend has an 06 WRX that makes like 260whp, 220wtq. He said if he launched, he should be in the high 11's. But to be honest, it doesn't feel FAST, even though it is pretty fast.

Then again, we aren't talking about money factor either...

If it was then... I'd consider a Supra with about $50k dumped into it would be FAST.
