What head unit?

I'm in the market for what Head Unit will benefit me the most? I am going to get a full system, 2 Subs 6x9, and front component and amps and all that. Money isnt really a big issue? on the fact that its on ebay under 400$ and to me thats reasonable. If you have any other suggetions le me know but out of these, what do you suggest? The pioneer costs the most, and i personally like it the most i just thought i would ask for the pros input. Any other suggetions let me know. Appreciate it.

i personally don't like alpine decks ( too user UN-friendly ) pioneers are excellent decks w/ alot of controls that most don't even know about, i'd go w/ the pioneer in this case but thats just me and everyone is entitled to an opinion

I would def look into past year alpines, the new 9851,53,55 in my opinion are cheap and crappy. I just picked up an alpine cda-9833, couldnt be more happy.

I have read some reports... anyone heard abou the problem with the head unit sucking your discs and not opening back up? The alpine i heard was hard to use and confusing with the glidetouch. i'm a youngin and i honestly dont understand electronics so remember that. I just want the best for my money.Like i said anyone else has suggestions pop the names on there and i'll look them up. Thanks.

yeah, i think the idea of the glidetouch is stupid. Look into last years alpines or even eclipse HU, you wont be dissapointed

if you want the best buy for your money and plan to run just a sub then go w/ a mid grade radio, or else your gonna waste the capabilities of the radio, i'd personally go w/ the deh-p7700mp if i were you

I dont like that look (deh-p7700mp, looks cheap to me). Style is a key to me. i'm running two subs... Type R's or L7's and then speakers all around. So? I'd like a head unit that can handle my stuff.

are you gonna run a 4 channel as well as a 2 channel for your subs?? i have all boston acoustics so thats my recomendation, you can find a good looking head unit for alot cheaper, why buy something you don't intend to use ( referring to the advance controls in the deck )

i have an alpine cda-9847 and i couldnt be happier with it, i would recommend alpine

glidetouch sucka, find liek the 9835, or go pioneer.

i would go for the pioneer in this case cuz i hate the glidetouch on the alpine 9853 n 9855. ive had too many customers complain about the motorize face gettin stuck.

What i've heard about the new alpines... what kind of old alpines do you suggest, becuase personally i like them alot. I saw this one like 795 or something series it used to be there big seller, big face plate with like 3 tilt settings = the sex i wanted it back then, but they stop making it. Anyone know where i can get one or just name the good old style numbers so i can search. I really like the pioneer, i think it looks badass.

Why don't you go down to the stereo shop and try it before you buy it? You might get the Pioneer and find out you don't like the controls or find something you don't like about the Alpine. Sure it's disappointing to the sales guy because you're putting your crumbsnatchers all over his display units and not even buying anything but at least you'll know a little better what you are getting ahead of time.
