Now I'm torn on getting it or not. To tell you the truth I understand that yeah it's just pipe but is it how it's bent or is it the filter, to tell you the truth that's what i'm not really understanding other than the whole emission thing. I know that AEM has a label on there pipe that says that it passes emission or some s**t like that but is it that?

oh come on it isnt that hard to put the stock airbox back on or print out a fake carb id and put that on your ebay generic intake. Im sick of people using california as an excuse to justify their ridicilous squandering of money on an aem.

pretty much all you are getting when you buy an aem is name recognition, the two extra stickers you can put on the windows, and the carb exemption.

If you are worried about carb there are 'cp' ones on ebay that are carb legal.

I'm not worried about the carb, my main concern is, if it's worth spending the money on an AEM or not. or another type will do just the same, it's just a lot people are saying just buy this or that but are the effects just the same? I really want to know. I want to know what is better for my buck. performance wise.

a generic one is better for your buck. Seriously. You can spend the money you save on a header or other engine modifications. An aem WILL not give you any more performance than a generic one.

Thanks that's pretty much what I really wanted to know, which route to take for an intake

it's nice and all that aem comes with a dyno sheet. i just wanna see ANY proof that aem gives you extra performance OVER generic. i gotta give it to aem though... they sure tricked alot of you suckers into spending hundreds more just for the "cool" aem stickers to put on your car, good advertising i guess.

^^ f**k you, the v2 adds what..another 1hp..not a noticable or big enough gain to actually back up any reasoning to getting the damn thing. they cost like 300 bucks!!! get a k&n filter for 35 bucks, cut the bottom tubes so its not a u shaped thing and have a cold air without the worry of getting water in your intake track. (kinda like a comptech icebox but not....)

well i have AEM cold air on the hatch.... i dont like it (water issue) i dont wanna spend another 60 bucks for a bypass valve.. plus a short ram does the SAME thing... which is on my other car... nothing fancy.. they all suck the same amount of air... get an ebay intake... they usually come with filters, then you can just getta KnN when its time...
